People moves: IPD co-founder Ian Cullen retires from MSCI [updated]

MSCI – Ian Cullen, who co-founded real estate benchmark provider IPD in 1985, will retire from MSCI in December as real estate advisory director. MSCI acquired IPD in 2012 and Cullen has continued to advise the company since.
SCOR Investment Partners – Gilles Castiel is to be promoted to head of real estate in December, replacing Jean Guitton who has held the role for more than 18 years. Castiel, who joined SCOR Investment Partners in 2013 as head of real estate debt, will now be in charge of direct and indirect real estate investments, and will continue to develop the company’s real estate debt business. Senior real estate debt fund manager Sandrine Amsili will replace Castiel as head of real estate debt. Karine Trébaticky, real estate asset manager, will become head of real estate asset management.
CBRE Global Investors – Christina Forrest has been appointed head of portfolio management for the European value partners series. In this position, Forrest will be responsible for overseeing the program’s portfolio of operating partners and internally managed assets. She recently held the position of head of transactions at Pradera with a focus on value-added investments.
UBS Asset Management – Rodolphe Brumm has joined the infrastructure equity team as portfolio manager. Brumm will support origination, analysis and investments across Europe. He spent the past two years as senior adviser to NextWorld Evergreen Fund, a family office. Prior to this, he was a managing director at Ardian.
Barings Real Estate – Sam Mellor has been hired to head structured real estate investments originations in Europe. Mellor will support the firm’s geographical expansion into continental European debt markets. Mellor was previously with Chenavari Investment Managers, a London-based hedge fund, where he was responsible for real estate investments.
Octopus Property – Paula Purdy has joined the specialist property lender as business development manager in the north of England. Purdy joins from Shawbrook Bank, where she was head of sales for residential mortgages. Purdy’s appointment follows on from the three regional hires last month, with representatives now established across the UK.
JLL – Linus Ericsson has been appointed as CEO of JLL Sweden. Ericsson was formerly head of JLL’s debt and financial advisory team in Sweden. He spent 10 years as CEO of AGL before its acquisition by JLL in 2015. He succeeds Daniel Gorosch who stepped down in August.
