GRESBSander Paul van Tongeren has left APG to join GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark). Van Tongeren is now head of Europe at GRESB. He was previously head of sustainability at APG, where he spent five years. He has also worked for CBRE Global Investors as a portfolio manager. APG said responsibilities for integrating ESG criteria in the real estate and infrastructure portfolios would remain covered by its ESG team, and that cooperation with GRESB would remain strong.

Allianz Real Estate – Charles Pridgeon, chief investment officer, is leaving the firm to pursue new challenges. Pridgeon had held the role for four years.

Legal & General PropertyMatthew Bird has been appointed senior transactions manager. Bird, who joins from Frogmore, is the third senior strategic hire made in the investor’s transactions team in a year. The appointment follows that of Tom Roberts, who recently joined from DTZ, as well as the arrival of James Lidgate, who joined in March last year from Bellway Homes.

UBS Real EstateTilman Hickl has joined the board in Germany. Hickl, at UBS since 2006, succeeds Roccardo Boscardin, who retired.

Redefine InternationalMichelle Daniels has been named group head of marketing. The UK REIT said Daniels took the newly created role to develop marketing activities for its £338m (€432m) UK retail portfolio.

EII Capital Management – Three managing directors have been recruited, with the firm also opening a London office. Andrew Cox has been named head of EII’s new London office having re-joined in September from GIC Real Estate. Michael Hudgins has been hired from JP Morgan Asset Management to chair EII’s global investment committee. Hudgins, who was executive director and global REIT/real estate strategist at JP Morgan, will be based in New York. In Singapore, Roberto Versace has been appointed as a managing director and portfolio manager, joining from BNY Mellon Investment Management.

Wüest & PartnerKarsten Jungk has been appointed as a partner and shareholder. Jungk joined the Zurich-headquartered, privately owned company in 2009.
