Cadillac Fairview – The real estate arm of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan has appointed Jenny Hammarlund as managing director to head its Europe operations. Based in London, she will be responsible for growing the firm’s presence in the region. Hammarlund’s previous roles were managing director of HIG Capital and director at KKR. She has also held previous roles with Värde Partners and Lehman Brothers. With Hammarlund joining, Russ Goin will assume the role of regional head for the US. Cadillac Fairview’s investment activities in Canada, Asia-Pacific and Latin America will continue to be led by Louie DiNunzio, Karl Kreppner, and Cintia Guimaraes, respectively.
CBRE – The global real estate advisor has appointed Kenneth Hatton as managing director to head EMEA hotels. Hatton will start his new role in June 2021. Hatton was most recently executive vice president for global development and general counsel at Belmond.
Aberdeen Standard Investments – The global asset manager has appointed Manuela Fumarola ESG manager to its private markets and real estate team. In her role, Fumarola is responsible for developing, embedding and overseeing an ESG strategy for private markets investments, including private equity, infrastructure and private lending assets. Fumarola joins ASI from M&G Investments where she worked as private equity associate and led on the integration of ESG into the investment process.
M&G Real Estate – Antonin Prade has been promoted to investment director for France, Belgium and Luxembourg, where he will lead on acquisitions across the company’s range of European funds. Antonin joined M&G Real Estate’s Paris office in 2017 to support M&G’s £7.2bn long income business - and in particular, the M&G European Secured Property Income Fund - which launched in 2015. In this new expanded remit, Prade will also be responsible for sourcing investments in France on behalf of the £4.1bn M&G European Property Fund as it increasingly diversifies towards the residential sector.
Hines – The international real estate firm has promoted Greg Cooper and Jurrien de Koning to managing director roles in the UK. Cooper’s promotion follows three years after arriving at the firm as director of industrial and logistics. He has led Hines’ entry to the UK market. De Koning’s promotion comes following eight years at Hines, the last five of which have been focused on driving the UK’s entry into the living sector.
Lendlease – The international property and infrastructure group’s Europe construction business has appointed Jonathan Losyk as its new head of commercial and central operations. Losyk has worked for Lendlease for over 30 years and was most recently commercial director for construction within London. In his new role of executive general manager, Losyk will oversee a talented team and his primary focus will be on securing new opportunities that will help Lendlease’s construction business grow and operate in a sustainable and profitable way. During his time at Lendlease Jonathan has held several senior commercial roles and worked on major projects. These include the extension and refurbishment of BBC Broadcasting House, redevelopment of Elephant and Castle, establishment of Deptford Timberyard and redevelopment of 1 Triton Square.
Avison Young – The global real estate advisor has appointed eight new UK principals. Andy Todman has been appointed to project management, Duncan Good has been appointed to occupier solutions and Kim Grieveson has been to planning development and regeneration. Martyn Saunders has been appointed to planning development and regeneration. Rob Hearle and Robert Harper have been appointed to independent healthcare and building consultancy respectively. Roger Atkinson and Saurabh Das have been appointed to occupier solutions and strategic advisory respectively. Andrei Voica has joined the Romanian management team to lead the workplace advisory and project management services. Before joining Avison Young, Andrei Voica held the position of project management and workplace advisory director at Colliers International Romania.
Cromwell Property – Gary Weiss has succeeded Jane Tongs as chair of the Brisbane-based company. The Cromwell board also elected Ooi Eng Peng as deputy chair and senior independent director. Weiss has been involved in overseeing large businesses with operations in Asia Pacific, Europe, China, India and the US and is familiar with investments across a wide range of industries and sectors, including real estate. Ooi has board and board committee experience at both listed and non-listed entities across Asia Pacific. Over the past 30 years, he held a variety of senior roles with Lendlease and has more than 35 years of real estate experience in Australia and across Asia.
Banque Bonhôte – Stéphane Picci has been appointed to lead the Swiss private bank’s real estate unit. Picci began his professional career in the banking sector before moving to the real estate sector in 1992. In 2014, Picci helped found a company specialising in real estate advice and valuation, but continued to work as an independent real estate expert for the Bonhôte-Immobilier SICAV fund. At Bonhôte-Immobilier, his main tasks include the acquisition strategy of the fund.
Invel Real Estate – The southern Europe real estate investment firm has appointed Laura Nigro as a development manager in Milan. Nigro joins Invel from Coima, where she has worked in the development management team since 2016. In her role at Invel, Nigro will have overarching responsibility for the viability and performance of the development projects, coordinating all parties involved and reporting to investors and shareholders.
