CBRE – The global real estate advisor has appointed Sophia Cox as social value lead within its environmental consultancy business. Cox was most recently sustainability advisor at UK Green Building Council. In her new role, Cox will be responsible for leading, managing and growing the social value service line for the UK business. Director Hugo Jack, associate director Katie Hoggarth and senior surveyor Chris Jones have joined CBRE’s data centre solutions site transactions team, whilst associate director Oscar Matthews joins the data centre capital markets team and Henry Gray joins the research team. All five hires join the team from JLL.
Alpha Real Capital – The specialist manager of secure income real assets, has appointed former PwC partner and head of pensions Investment consulting, Sinead Leahy, as a senior adviser. Leahy brings a wealth of experience as a pension specialist, leading investment strategy and implementation advice to corporate sponsors and trustees of large defined benefit pension schemes during her time at PwC.
Madison International Realty – The real estate private equity firm has promoted Kyle Torpey, Kim Adamek and Jasmin Chitrakar to managing director. The three executives formerly held the position of Director. Torpey shares responsibility for the oversight of Madison’s US investment activities including sourcing, underwriting and execution of transactions for Madison’s managed funds. He works on all aspects of financial analysis, property due diligence and transaction structuring in US markets. Prior to joining Madison in 2017, Torpey was a VP in the Goldman Sachs real estate investment banking group. Previously, he was an associate in Lazard’s real estate investment banking group. Adamek, who was named managing director of portfolio and asset aanagement, maintains responsibility for the asset management of Madison’s funds, including its domestic and international investment portfolio. Her responsibilities include oversight of Madison’s investment positions, monitoring financial performance, maintaining relationships with Madison’s counterparties, and providing strategic recommendations seeking to enhance investment returns. Prior to joining Madison in 2014, Adamek was with CBRE Global Investors, serving as an acquisition director in the managed accounts group. Previously, she started her career with Unico Properties as an analyst and associate. Chitrakar maintains oversight of Madison’s finance and accounting team. Her primary responsibilities include all aspects of fund management including financial reporting, fund operations, tax reporting, and compliance. She serves as liaison with key strategic relationship, including external audit, tax, finance, and hedging counterparties, as well as with third-party administration teams. Chitrakar has over 15 years of finance and accounting experience. Before joining Madison in 2010, she served as a supervising senior at Ernst & Young in the New York real estate practice.
OMERS Infrastructure – Gisele Everett has been named senior managing director, Americas. She succeeds Michael Ryder who, after three years with OMERS Infrastructure, will leave the organisation on April 1. Everett joined the Infrastructure team in January 2019 and has been primarily focused on portfolio company strategy and value creation. Prior to joining OMERS, Everett was with Anchorage Capital Group, Deutsche Asset Management and Citigroup. Christopher Curtain will step into the role of senior managing director, Asia Pacific. Alastair Hall has been promoted to senior managing director, global head of investment strategy and partnerships. Based in London since joining OMERS Infrastructure in 2014, Hall has completed ongoing investments in Ellevio and Thames Water, and the successful realisations of High Speed 1, Caruna, MapleCo, as well as the partial realisation of Associated British Ports.
Optimum Asset Management – The boutique real estate investment manager has appointed Ljiljana Macdonald as managing director. Macdonald joins Optimum with over 16 years’ fund management, investment strategy and capital raising experience developed in a range of senior roles at boutique and large real estate investment managers. She has worked with firms such as Alpha Real Capital, Aviva Investors, Cordea Savills, and UBS Global Asset Management. At Optimum, Macdonald will be responsible for supporting the growth of the firm’s operations in key markets through capital raising, client relationship management and collaboration with Optimum’s local asset management teams.
Stenprop – The UK multi-let industrial property company has appointed John Whitley to the newly created role of group sales and marketing director. Whitley will be based in Stenprop’s Stockport office and will report directly to managing director Julian Carey. He will primarily be responsible for driving the growth of the industrials platform, optimising the customer journey and refining the lead generation function. Whitley was most recently sales and marketing director at flexible office provider Landmark Space, prior to which he held the roles of senior director of CRM and loyalty at Hertz and commercial director at Expedia.
