North American middle-market infrastructure investor Mascarene Partners is acquiring a US waste services company Voyager Trucking.

Mascarene, which targets transportation and industrial assets, said it has partnered with Voyager’s management to acquire the company for an undisclosed sum, with Voyager’s management team retaining their shareholding and continuing to lead the business.

Voyager transports municipal solid waste and other bulk materials to landfills and incinerators, as well as providing transfer station management services. The company operates across nine states on the East Coast of the US.

Rob Creighton, partner with Mascarene, said: ”We are thrilled to be partnering with the Voyager team. The company has established a reputation for delivering high quality service to its customers, which has led to impressive historical growth.”We look forward to the opportunity to work with the team to support the ongoing growth of the business, both organically and through acquisitions.”

Tom DiDonato, CEO of Voyager, said: “We believe that Mascarene’s deep industry experience and hands-on investment approach makes them an ideal partner for the next phase of Voyager’s growth.

“Our company will benefit greatly from Mascarene’s strategic capital and resources in our efforts to drive continued service excellence for our customers across a growing footprint.”

Wes Dick, managing partner of Mascarene, said: “Voyager fits well with Mascarene’s investment strategy given the critical nature of its essential services, long-term contracted revenue, high-quality fleet, and strong track record of growth.

“This is an important investment for Mascarene and our first as an independent franchise. We look forward to building on this momentum given our pipeline of new investment opportunities.”
