Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI) has held the final close for its latest infrastructure debt strategy, securing €1.5bn in total capital commitments.
The Allianz Infrastructure Credit Opportunities Fund II (AICOF II) fund surpassed its initial €1bn target with backing from institutional investors across Europe and Asia.
AllianzGI said AICOF II has already deployed around €1bn across the energy transition, digital and social infrastructure sectors.
Matthew Norman, head of infrastructure debt at Allianz Global Investors, said: “Decarbonisation and digitalisation continue to reshape infrastructure and create a broad range of investment opportunities.
“The final close reflects continued institutional demand for flexible infrastructure debt strategies, and the breadth of our platform allows us to invest across sectors and different parts of the capital structure. We believe this broad and flexible approach is particularly valuable in today’s evolving infrastructure market.”
Benjamin Walter, lead portfolio manager AICOF II at Allianz Global Investors, said: “We are pleased to have reached the final close with a diversified international investor base and are very grateful for the trust of our investors.
“AICOF II is already well advanced in its deployment as we are looking to add further diversification to the portfolio to provide investors access to a broad set of infrastructure companies and sectors. This progress reflects our ability to originate, structure and execute attractive bilateral opportunities while maintaining a selective investment approach.”
AICOF II, which launched in June 2024 as the successor strategy to the manager’s Allianz Resilient Opportunistic Credit Fund, held a first close of €533m in December 2024 before reaching €1bn at its third close in February 2026. The platform targets senior and junior infrastructure debt across energy, transport, digital and social infrastructure, deploying capital across multiple layers of the capital structure.
