Ivanhoé Cambridge – Ajay Phull has been appointed head of investments, UK. Phull will be responsible for all investment activities across the UK and will work closely with a team of executives in London, Paris, Luxemburg and Berlin. Phull has over 10 years of real estate and investment experience, most recently as vice president at Vanke. Prior, he worked at Brockton Capital, the opportunistic private equity real estate investor, underwriting and executing over 10 successful transactions. He began his career at PwC’s real estate corporate finance and restructuring team.
Man Group – The fund manager’s global private markets arm has appointed Bernd Kerner as investment director within its European private debt team. Kerner will focus on sourcing, executing, and managing European real estate loans as Man Global Private Markets further expands its activity in key euro-dominated real estate markets. He will be based in London. Kerner joins Man GPM after more than a decade with JP Morgan, serving most recently as an executive director in the corporate investment bank risk and treasury and securities services risk management teams. Prior to that, he was a vice president on the real estate finance team. He spent the earlier part of his career as vice president at Eurohypo, and in similar roles at Deutsche Hypothekenbank and Dresdner Bank.
Allianz Real Estate – The manager has Megan Walters as global head of research. Walters will report to CIO Olivier Teran, and will initially be based in the firm’s Singapore office before relocating to Europe. With over 20 years of experience in global real estate, she joins from JLL Asia Pacific where she was a member of the JLL global research executive team and held the position of head of research Asia Pacific.
Cushman & Wakefield – Louise Rushmer has been appointed to the role of corporate portfolio account lead, within the real estate services firm’s global occupier services team, to lead the management of its UK real estate portfolio and related facilities management. In her new role, Rushmer will also lead on the firm’s EMEA real estate portfolio. Rushmer has worked in property and facilities management for the last 19 years and joins Cushman & Wakefield from Virgin Money where she was head of property. She began her career working for RRD International where she was responsible for the management of its European offices, a position which expanded into a global role. Other roles include service excellence manager at Barclays Wealth and global head of property for Frank Recruitment Group. As a partner at Cushman & Wakefield, Rushmer will be responsible for real estate and facilities management for 14 offices in the UK and the real estate for 98 EMEA offices.
Catella Residential Investment Management – The manager has appointed Patrick Au Yeung as fund manager of the Catella European Residential Fund lll, its maiden pan-European residential vehicle. In this position he will co-manage the fund with managing director Xavier Jongen. Au Yeung previously worked as senior investment and portfolio manager international real estate at the real estate arm of Dutch insurer Syntrus Achmea for more than seven years. Prior to that, he held various positions at ING Real Estate Investment Management & ING Real Estate Finance from 1998 until 2011.
Glenhawk – The UK property lender has appointed Daron Kularatnam group treasurer. Kularatnam joins from Belmont Green Finance, where he served as head of treasury management. Prior to this, he spent six years at Moody’s Investors Service in the structured finance RMBS team and a further five years at Kensington Mortgages, part of Investec Bank. Following its sale, he took over as treasury and portfolio manager at Kensington Mortgages. Effective immediately, Daron will be based in London and report directly to CEO Guy Harrington. His responsibilities will include managing the financing facilities and implementing an enhanced funding growth strategy, including modelling future funding lines.
Deutsche Finance International – The London based pan-European private equity real estate investor has appointed Daniel Filser and Jonni Glick to the roles of senior associate and analyst respectively. Filser joins from Allianz Real Estate, where he was an investment manager in charge of global and European indirect investments. Glick joins from InfraRed Capital, where he focused on UK value-add investments across multiple asset classes, with an emphasis on multi-let industrial. Prior to that, he was at Citi in the South African investment banking team, where he worked on M&A and equity capital markets transactions.
Sousou Partners – Adam Harris has joined to join the executive search and advisory firm’s infrastructure and energy practice as a partner. Harris joins from Stonehaven International, where he was head of asset management, alternatives and private equity. Previously, he held a similar position with a global search and advisory company. Prior to that, he was a partner for more than 10 years with a European private equity fund.
