Gazeley – The logistics real estate developer has appointed Natali Cooper as head of portfolio and asset management. Cooper’s primary responsibility is to oversee the portfolio and asset management by developing and implementing innovative asset management strategies that optimise returns for investors. Cooper will sit on the senior team and have a pan-European remit. She joins Gazeley from CBRE Global Investors where she was a managing director with responsibility for the investment and asset management strategies for their pan European core flagship fund invested across all asset classes. She joined CBRE GI from Aviva Investors where she held the position of fund manager for 9 years for a value-added logistics/industrial fund and a retail fund. Prior to that role, Cooper was responsible for the asset management of Klepierre’s portfolio in CEE and a member of the investment team.
BMO Real Estate Partners – The €7.1bn manager has appointed Benjamin Duprat European asset manager. Based in Paris, Duprat will focus on prime high-street retail assets under management for the company’s European retail funds, representing a total value of €1bn in eight countries. He previously worked at Liberty Management in Paris.
Edmond de Rothschild Group – François Grandvoinnet has been hired to head the group’s €6.2bn French property business. Grandvoinet has been appointed chairman of Cleaveland to replace founders Laurent Fermaut and Dominique Bonin, who will leave the company at the end of this year. Lyes Badji, finance director since 2012, will be appointed managing director of Cleaveland whilst Clément Brazy, currently, senior fund manager, will take over Badji’s current function. Grandvoinnet was chairman of Aviva Investors Real Estate France. He had previously held various positions in leading companies including AXA REIM, CBRE Global Investors and AEW, both in France and abroad.
AEW – The real estate asset manager has appointed Karin Doppelbauer technical development manager for its for logistics projects. Doppelbauer will have specific responsibility for logistics developments in the German and Dutch markets. Based in AEW’s Frankfurt office, Doppelbauer will also support the fund management, asset management and investment teams in continuing to build portfolios. Prior to joining AEW, she was in charge of the construction department for German projects at GSE Deutschland and has held positions as project manager for construction at SAUR (Bouygues), project engineer at MSE (Véolia) and R&D engineer at STEREAU (Bouygues).
Urban Exposure – The specialist residential development financier and asset manager has appointed Oliver Lawlor as a director in its credit team, and Karen Finn as senior associate. Lawlor will be responsible for evaluating commercial credit proposals whilst working with senior stakeholders and various departments. Prior to joining Urban Exposure, Lawlor held senior roles within NAMA, Deutsche Pfandbriefbank and established a consultancy for client-side debt structuring within multi-asset classes. Finn previously worked at Starwood Capital Europe Advisers, where she worked as an Associate in Debt Asset Management.
Infracapital – M&GPrudential’s infrastructure equity investment arm has appointed Wael Elkhouly asset management managing director. Elkhouly was most recently at Bastion Infrastructure Group in Toronto, where he was partner and head of asset management. Jamie Hepburn and Manuel Rodríguez Aguilar have both joined as asset management senior associates. Hepburn joined from the EPH Group, where he worked in corporate finance within the EP Power Europe division, and Aguilar was previously project finance manager at Cubico Sustainable Investments. Reagan Yee has also joined Infracapital as an asset management associate from Morgan Stanley’s private equity valuations team. To support its growing greenfield activities, Infracapital said it has appointed Verena Rathgeber as associate director. Rathgeber joins from Scottish Equity Partners where she was a principal at their Environmental capital fund. Savvas Karatapanis, formerly at Macquarie Capital, has joined the team as an associate to provide further valuable support to the greenfield strategy. Nazli Guran has joined the team as a transaction associate from Credit Suisse where she was an analyst in the investment banking, EMEA energy, transport and infrastructure group.
Cushman & Wakefield – Rupert Dodson, chair of the real estate services firm’s EMEA valuation and advisory team, will retire at the end of the year following a 41-year career at the firm. He is succeeded in his regional role by Jean-Philippe Carmarans who also leads the firm’s valuation and advisory team in France. Dodson first joined the firm in 1978 as a graduate, with what was then Healey & Baker, and progressed through multiple roles. Karen Clements will be taking on a new role as head of operations within the team. She will perform this regional role while continuing as managing director, UK valuation and advisory which she was appointed to last year. Lisa Bentley has been appointed as a partner within its global occupier services logistics and industrial team. Bentley joins the firm from GE where for the past 10 years she acted as northern Europe region portfolio manager. Prior to this role, Bentley was a real estate manager at Ford Motor for several years.
Muzinich & Co – Alok Wadhawan has been appointed to head up a newly-created aviation finance business which will be part of the investment firm’s growth in offerings of alternative investments and private debt.
