Generali Real Estate has recruited former TH Real Estate director Anthony Butler as head of a new, global corporate finance department.
Butler, who set up and ran TIAA-CREF’s European platform, left TH Real Estate late last year after six years. He also worked for MGPA and RREEF. Butler, who will be based in Paris, will monitor indirect real estate investments made by the Generali group.
Generali said Cristiano Stampa, with the firm since 2003, will head the firm’s fund management and international investment department.
Davy Gomes, who joined Generali in 2009, has been named chief finance officer. Sebastien Pezet, who took over from the recently retired Philippe Brion, will run the firm’s French office.
Alberto Agazzi, with Generali since 2005, has been promoted from managing director of services to chief executive for Italy.
Generali recruited former AEW Europe chief executive, Christian Delaire last year. Delaire replaced Giancarlo Scotti, who was this week named chairman of the Urban Land Institute in Italy. Scotti, who was chief executive of Generali for seven years and has also worked for Lazard & Co, took up the voluntary ULI post at the start of this month. In Belgium, Marnix Galle, CEO of the Allfin Group, has been appointed as new country chair of ULI Belgium.
Valad Europe – Claire Treacy has been named chief finance officer. Treacy, who replaces Fraser Kennedy (see below), will be responsible for Valad Europe’s corporate finance functions, debt origination and ongoing management of finance operations across Europe. She was previously head of tax and risk at Valad for 10 years. Before joining Valad Europe, Treacy was a senior tax manager in KPMG’s Real Estate group.
Kennedy Wilson Europe – Fraser Kennedy has been named head of finance. Kennedy joins from Valad (see above), where he was chief finance officer. Kennedy has also worked at Legal & General Investment Management and Haysmacintyre.
Kingsley Napley – Brandusa Tataru-Marinescu has been appointed as a senior associate in its real estate practice. Brandusa joins from Taylor Wessing.
Aberdeen Asset Management – Stephen Walker and Simon Moscow have respectively been promoted to deputy head and head of asset management in the UK. The moves follow the departure of current head, Giles Easter, who has left the firm. Moscow and Walker have worked for Aberdeen since 2008.
