UBS Asset Management – Wolfgang Behrendt has been appointed as head of the Global Real Estate business in EMEA. Behrendt replaces Tilman Hickl, who is to head the Global Customised Mandates unit, which will now advise institutional clients and “ultra” high-net-worth clients. Benoît Delaby will continue to lead a private wealth clients subdivsion. Behrendt joins UBS from Deka Immobilien and has also worked for MEAG and The Peabody Group, as well as KPMG and Dr Lübke Immobilien, a subsidiary of Dresdner Bank.
Thor Equities – Laurence Karsenti has been named head of retail leasing at Thor Retail Advisors. Karsenti will be based in the Paris office. She was previously head of retail and partner at Knight Frank in France.
Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) – Stéphane Brimont has been appointed head of France and Benelux in Paris. Brimont replaces Bruno Angles, MIRA’s head of France since 2007. He was previously chief operating officer at GDF SUEZ.
NAI Apollo – Michael Schremmer has been named managing director of the property management division. Schremmer has been with the firm since 2007. Anja Schulz, manager of the Stuttgart branch, has been made general power of attorney.
Kames Capital – John Dear has been hired as co-manager of the firm’s open-ended Active Value Property Fund. Dear has worked within the property investment team at Kames Capital since 2011.
Immofinanz – Stefan Schönauer has been named chief financial officer, replacing Birgit Noggler, who resigned in February. Schönauer has been with the firm since 2008, most recently as head of capital markets and corporate strategy.
Cogress – The open equity firm for property has appointed David Bernstein to its advisory board. The former chairman of Manchester City, The Football Association and current chairman of Ted Baker, joined the firm’s board this month. He is also chairman of the British Red Cross and a director of Aston Villa.
