Blackstone – Michael Zerda has joined the company in London as a director. Zerda left his previous role as European director of LaSalle Investment’s Debt and Special Situations business last year. He will manage Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies in London. He has also worked for MGPA and spent four years at LaSalle.
MSCI – Jim Valente has been named global head of real estate, reporting to COO Baer Pettit. Valente, who joined MSCI in 2011, helped develop the Pension Real Estate Association and IPD US property fund indexes. He has also worked for Bentall Kennedy, ING Clarion and SSR Realty.
JP Morgan – Tetsuya Karasawa has been appointed managing director and head of real estate in Japan. Karasawa, based in Tokyo, joins from AXA Real Estate Investment Managers.
Aviva Investors – Sean McLachlan has been named senior director for infrastructure. Based in London, McLachlan reports to Ian Berry, head of infrastructure. He previously worked for Balfour Beatty Investments, where he was investment director for infrastructure. He has also worked for RBC Capital Markets.
M&G Real Estate – Dimitri Doublet has been named assistant fund manager for its core European property strategy. Based in Paris, he was previously portfolio and transaction manager at Internos Global Investors.
