Stonepeak – Sung Eun Ahn has been appointed chairman in Korea to help support the firm’s APAC business. Sung Eun most recently served as chief country officer, Korea at Deutsche Bank, a position he held for more than 10 years. Prior to that, for nearly a decade he served as chief executive and head of investment banking for Korea at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
ISPT – Doug Cain has been appointed to the newly created role of head of mandates at the industry super-owned property asset manager, ISPT. Cain will join ISPT in early March from the Future Fund, where he was head of unlisted property responsible for leading the organisation’s global real estate investment strategy. Before joining The Future Fund, he was a senior director with PSP Investments. Prior to that, Cain was with CIBC World Markets in their real estate investment banking group for five years.
Partners Group – Stephen McCall has been appointed to the newly created global head of platforms operating companies role based in London, and Henrik Orrbeck has been named co-head of real estate Europe also based in London. McCall will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s strategy for investing in real estate management teams and operating companies. McCall was previously CEO at Edyn Group, an international hybrid hospitality platform owned by Brookfield Asset Management. Prior to that, he spent nearly 17 years at IHG, most recently as chief operating officer for Europe. Orrbeck will act as co-head of real estate Europe alongside AJ Jager, who is a managing director within the team. Orrbeck has over 20 years of industry experience and joins from EQT where he was a partner and founding member of the firm’s real estate business. Prior to EQT, Orrbeck spent nearly ten years at Carlyle, rising to director for the Nordics.
Greystar Real Estate Partners – Jan-Felipe Salzmann has been appointed senior director of investment in Germany. Salzmann will lead Greystar’s investment efforts in Germany and Austria. He joins Greystar after nearly 14 years with Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he most recently held the position of executive director in charge of direct real estate investments in Germany and Austria.
AEW – The real assets manager has appointed Jeffrey King as fund manager of its open-ended pan-European core fund. King, who will be based in Frankfurt, will lead the management of Eurocore working alongside Christina Ofschonka and the wider fund team. As previously announced, Ofschonka has been promoted to head of AEW Germany effective from November this year and will work closely with King during the transition period and beyond. King has over 15 years’ experience in the European real estate industry and joins AEW from DWS where he was head of portfolio management for residential strategies. Prior to that he spent over seven years at Aviva Investors as fund manager of its pan-European open ended core fund Encore-plus. King also spent five years at CBRE in the valuations team.
PGIM Real Estate – David Fassbender has been appointed country head of Japan, in addition to his current role as senior portfolio manager of the firm’s Asia Pacific value-add strategies. Fassbender replaces Morgan Laughlin, who is transitioning into an advisory role for the real estate business in Japan and will be fully dedicated to his role as global head of data centre investments. Both Fassbender and Laughlin will remain on the PGIM Real Estate Asia Pacific executive council and investment committee. Fassbender joined PGIM Real Estate in 2002 and was previously head of South East Asia based in Singapore.
Goodman Group – Hugh Baggie has been appointed managing director of data centres for Asia. Baggie will be responsible for connecting customers and capital partners with Goodman’s data centre development and delivery capabilities across the region. Before his promotion to the regional role, Baggie managed the US$9bn Goodman Hong Kong portfolio. He is based in the group’s new regional office in Singapore, just established to support the growth of Goodman’s data centre strategy in Asia.
Henderson Park – The private real estate investment fund manager appointed Bob Lee as a managing director and global general counsel. Lee joins Henderson Park from Jones Day after almost 30 years as a partner, including the last 18 years as global co-chair of real estate. Lee will be based in the US and already has an existing relationship with Henderson Park, having previously advised on the set up and structuring of both the firm and its first fund, Henderson Park Real Estate Fund I. In his new role at Henderson Park, Lee will oversee all legal, regulatory and compliance matters globally, as well as sitting on the firm’s investment and executive committees.
ActivumSG – Nicholas Temperley has joined the firm investor relations team as director. Temperley will focus on project management to support product formation, capital raising and servicing clients within ActivumSG’s existing LP base. Temperley joins from pan-European real estate fund manager Europa, where he was an associate director focused on business development. Prior to his role at Europa, where he was an employee for over eight years, Temperley was an associate in global real estate investor Tishman Speyer’s equity capital markets team. He started his real estate career as an analyst at consultancy PMA.
Crestbridge – Craig Leitch has been appointed real estate services director. Leitch will be responsible for the management of a portfolio of complex corporate real estate clients. He will also support the senior management team in the development and evolution of the business’s comprehensive suite of real estate solutions. He joins Crestbridge from a global financial services provider where he was the lead for a corporate and Institutional team responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of corporate, PERE and real estate clients.
Warrakirri Asset Management – Nikki Jordon has joined agricultural asset manager as head of sustainability. In the newly created role, Jordan will lead the development of Warakirri’s groupwide sustainability and ESG strategy and oversee its implementation and reporting across its various business lines. She was most recently, Select Harvests’ sustainability and environment manager. Her prior experience includes sustainability development strategy and communication roles at City of Melbourne and Bank Australia.
Pantheon – David Elliott has been promoted to partner in the firm’s real estate team, which was established in 2021. Elliott is a founding member of Pantheon’s real estate team, where he focuses on providing liquidity capital solutions across real estate markets and is a member of the real estate investment committee. Prior to joining Pantheon, Elliott was a senior member of the real estate team at GI Partners overseeing its real estate platform investment and management activity. He is based in New York.
Mohr Partners – Jill Ecuyer has joined the global corporate real estate advisory and outsourcing services firm to lead its Charlotte, North Carolina, office. Prior to joining Mohr Partners, Ecuyer served as a senior associate for Crossman & Company. Additionally, Ecuyer worked as a director for Newmark for seven years. She has also spent time with Spectrum Properties as a senior marketing representative and as director of leasing for Lincoln Properties, formerly known as The Harris Group.
Waterton – The US national real estate investor and operator has appointed Don Larsen as senior vice president of capital programme management. Prior to joining Waterton, Larsen served as the executive vice president at McWhinney Co, where he was responsible for project delivery across various business units. His career also includes significant roles at NAVA Real Estate Development, Related Companies, Hensel Phelps Construction Company, Forest City Commercial Construction, and Alpha Builders.
Carmel Partners – Bryan Crane is joining the firm as CIO and managing partner. Crane has a track record in real estate, including more than 20 years with firms including Veritas Investments, Clarion Partners, Rockwood Capital and JPMorgan. At Veritas, Crane launched and led its Southern California expansion. He most recently served as Veritas’ CIO.
RPM Living – Zach Springer has been appointed partner and managing director of capital markets. Springer will oversee equity/debt for RPM at a national level. Prior to joining RPM, Springer was vice chairman at Newmark.
