Commerz Real – Yves-Maurice Radwan has been appointed head of infrastructure investments to succeed Jan-Peter Müller, who left the company at the end of 2021. Radwan joined the real assets specialist of the Commerzbank Group in February 2021, where to date he has headed the infrastructure transactions department. In his new function, he is responsible for partnerships with project developers and asset management in addition to the transaction business. Before joining Commerz Real he was employed with Innogy SE/RWE and at the investment manager Aream Renewable Energies, among other companies.
BNP Paribas Real Estate Investment Management – Greg Mansell has been appointed to lead the research team and performance analytics in the UK. He is based in the UK and is responsible for the UK research and strategy business. Mansell will also cover portfolio analysis of BNP Paribas REIM’s European property funds. He started his career in 2007, working as an analyst and senior analyst for property and portfolio research, CoStar and IPD. From 2013 to 2014, he worked as head of applied research at MSCI. After that, he worked for three years at AXA IM Real Assets, first as senior strategist and then as head of research. In 2017, he founded Renosco, a real estate research consultancy for people interested in real estate investment. Finally, from 2019 to 2022, he worked as head of UK research and insight at Cushman & Wakefield.
Generali Real Estate – The real estate manager has marked its return to the UK market with the appointment of Fraser D’Arcy as head of UK. D’Arcy is London based and reports to the head of Western Europe region, Sébastien Pezet. He also reports functionally to the head of transactions, David Brogi. D’Arcy previously worked with Columbia Threadneedle, SWIP, Frogmore and Picton. Last year, Generali made a comeback with the acquisition of the Times Square building located in Queen Victoria Street.
Immobel Capital Partners – The London-based investment management business of Immobel Group has appointed Monica O’Neill as head of capital and investor relations. Most recently O’Neill has been advising global clients through her own consulting firm, ENSO Advisors. Prior to this she was one of the founding partners of Tristan Capital Partners. O’Neill will work with Duncan Owen, who joined to establish Immobel Capital partners as CEO in January.
Real IS – Cornelia Cojanu has been appointed head of institutional clients. Cojanu, who joined in January 2022, will act as team leader for the institutional clients section, with responsibility for expanding the institutional customer and product base. Before joining Real IS she was SVP of the investor relations division at LaSalle Investment Management. From 2008 to 2016 she held the position of associate director for business development with responsibility for institutional clients at asset management company UBS Real Estate.
Savills Investment Management – The international real estate investment manager has promoted Juan Miguel Marinas to head of asset management. Marinas will take on his new role in addition to his current responsibilities as director of asset management for Spain and Portugal. Reporting to Kiran Patel, global CIO and deputy CEO, Marinas will be responsible for asset management operations across the business, including management of key service providers such as property managers, as well as overseeing the integration of both ESG and technology into the asset management business. Marinas spent four years in his role as director of asset management, Spain and Portugal, as well as over a decade as director of asset management at Zaphir Asset Management. He has also worked for Coperfil Real Estate Group, a developer of logistics-related spaces.
Cubico Sustainable Investments – The renewable energy company has appointed David Swindin as its new CEO. Swindin replaces Steve Riley who will be retiring after leading the company for five years. Swindin had previously been Cubico’s regional head of EMEA since it was formed in 2015.
Crestbridge – Barry Hindmarch has been appointed director and head of UK real estate. Based in London, Hindmarch will be responsible for leading Crestbridge’s UK real estate business and for the management and evolution of its services, building on its reputation as a leading service provider for real estate asset managers. Prior to joining Crestbridge, Hindmarch was head of real estate for UK, Channel Islands, and Ireland for one of the top five fund administrators globally, where he was responsible for establishing oversight and reporting of real estate as a specialist service. Before this, he was director of real assets at one of the worlds’ largest asset managers where he managed the finance team for open and closed-ended EMEA real estate funds.
Hines – Leonora Downes has joined the global real estate firm’s UK arm as an associate in the retail asset management team. Downes joins Hines from British Land, where she was responsible for the management of the company’s central London and regional office portfolios. Nick Hopwood joins the Hines UK development management team as an associate. Hopwood arrives from Ennismore, where he was responsible for the delivery of projects in London and Barcelona.
PGIM Real Estate – Marcia Diaz has taken on an expanded role as head of US core debt. Diaz is responsible for overseeing the portfolio management of PGIM Real Estate’s US core debt strategies on behalf of institutional investors. She is also a member of the global management council and serves as the senior sponsor for PGIM Real Estate’s diversity, equity, and inclusion program. Melissa Farrell will succeed Diaz and has been named as PGIM Real Estate’s new head of US originations for all US loans. Farrell has more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience, and since rejoining the company in 1997, she has held a series of different management roles. Daniel Kattan will be joining PGIM Real Estate’s debt originations team as an executive director. Kattan will be based in Los Angeles, responsible for covering the Western US, including the Mountain States and Texas. Kattan joins PGIM Real Estate from Canyon Partners where he originated and structured debt and equity, including senior and mezzanine loans, and preferred equity, across five of Canyon’s real estate strategies.
Cushman & Wakefield – The global real estate services firm has promoted Tim Crighton to lead its logistics and industrial team in EMEA. He succeeds Rob Hall who is stepping down from overall team leadership after 22 years although remaining a key member of the team, responsible for occupier services including its performance in tenant representation. Crighton will lead the team and coordinate the firm’s brokerage, occupier services, project and development services, valuation, and capital markets activity across the logistics and industrial sector in EMEA. Crighton joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2019 from Europe’s home improvement retailer Kingfisher. He previously held roles at Linde Group subsidiaries BOC and GIST.
Tritax – The logistics real estate investment manager has appointed Tim O’Reilly as director of strategic power. An integral part his role will be to optimise the operational and maintenance structures across the Group’s existing and future assets, to maximise power delivery and reliability, and provide customers with more compelling, cost-effective power solutions. He started on 31 January. O’Reilly has spent over a decade at National Grid, working across different divisions of the business, initially as an engineer, before moving to project management, delivery and leadership.
Avison Young – Petr Florian has joined the global real estate advisor in the Czech Republic to develop its office leasing service line. Florián who takes the role of associate director will be responsible for business development, office occupier services and developing a full range of services to be provided to office landlords and developers. Florian most recently was head of office and retail agency in the local brokerage firm 108 Agency. Prior to this role, Florian gained his experience in office teams in Savills and CBRE.
