Legal & GeneralToby Creamer has joined the London team in the newly created role as head of European transactions and will support the firm in sourcing and executing real estate transactions into mainland Europe. Creamer joins L&G’s asset management division from CBRE Investment Management, most recently as a portfolio manager. Prior to this role, Creamer was a senior manager at Rockspring Property Investment Managers and an analyst at AEW Europe.  

QIC Real EstateDeborah Coakley has been appointed managing director to succeed Michael O’Brien, who has led QIC’s real estate division since 2019. Coakley joins from Dexus where she was the CEO of funds management. She spent 11 years with Dexus and sat on its investment committee. Coakley is also a member of the National Construction Industry Forum. She will start with QIC Real Estate in October and will become part of the executive leadership team.

Goldman Sachs AlternativesSydney McConathy and Tani Burge have joined Goldman Sachs Alternatives Capital Formation. McConathy became a product specialist lead in asset and wealth management in the alternatives capital formation unit as in May. She joined from Blackrock, where she most recently led product strategy and investor relations activities in North America for the infrastructure equity platform. Before that, she was a senior managing director and head of global business development at Hancock Natural Resource Group, now Manulife. McConathy is based in Boston. Burge joined the asset and wealth management arm in the alternatives capital formation business as a managing director based in London. She will serve as a product specialist on alternatives capital formation’s infrastructure team to help drive capital-raising and investor relations across draw-down and semi-liquid products, reporting to McConathy. Burge joins from Astatine Investment Partners, where she was head of client and investor solutions. Prior to that, she was an attorney in Linklaters’s Hong Kong and London offices, and was also on a business secondment for the chairman of Linklaters.

Link REITDuncan Gareth Owen will succeed Nicholas Allen as the chairman. Allen will retire from the board after serving as chair for the past nine years. Owen is an independent non-executive director and chair of Workspace Group. He is also the chair of Sellar Property and chair of its investment committee. Up until 2023, he was the CEO of Immobel Capital Partners. From 2012 to 2020, he was the global head of real estate of Schroders and from 2006 to 2011 he served as CEO of Invista Real Estate Investment Management. Prior to those appointments, Owen was managing director of Insight Investment Management and the co-founder of Gatehouse Investment Management. He held various positions in JLL and LaSalle Investment Management from 1990 to 2001. Ann Kung Yeung Yun-chi has joined the Link board as an independent non-executive director. She is currently the chairman of the banking and financial services group of the Employers’ Federation of Hong Kong. Kung is an adviser to Bank of China (Hong Kong), having been a deputy chief executive of the bank from March 2015 until her retirement in July 2022. She had previously held various senior positions at Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong).

CBREFabian Klein and Peter Schreppel are leaving the company after almost 22 years of service. Both have ceased managing business operations. At CBRE’s request they will continue to provide consultancy services to the company and focus on servicing its clients until January 2025 to ensure a smooth transition. Kai Mende, CEO of CBRE’s advisory services business in Germany and city lead of Berlin, will take on the management of the capital markets team on an interim basis in addition to his existing roles. Mende has over 25 years of real estate experience in the capital markets sector. Klein started in 2002 as MD/head of investment Germany for CBRE and built up the then non-existent capital markets division together with his team. Schreppel also started in 2002 as MD/head of international investment for CBRE in Germany. In March 2011, he was appointed CEO in Germany until he returned to his previous role as head of international investment at his own request in April 2016. He was also a member of the European executive committee from 2011 to 2016. From December 2023 to April 2024, he served as interim CEO in addition to his current role.

KGALCarolin Vormann has been appointed head of institutional business. She joins KGAL from HSBC, where she served as managing director, global relationship banker insurance in HSBC’s capital markets business in the DACH region. Prior to her time at HSBC, she was head of non-bank financial intermediation at Commerzbank. Vormann began her career in the insurance industry in Hanover.  

Altus Power —  Richard A Shapiro has joined the firm’s board of directors. Shapiro will serve as chair of the compensation committee. Since 2021, Shapiro has served as the founder and CIO of Ridge Run Partners. Previously, Shapiro served as portfolio manager at Millennium Management and was a partner at Wexford Capital.  

Housing Australia – Scott Langford has been appointed CEO to replace outgoing CEO Nathan Dal Bon. Langford is the current group CEO of St George Community Housing. His previous roles include general manager of housing and urban development for Junction Australia and executive director of Habitat for Humanity Australia.
