Former PGIM executive Ruediger Schwarz has teamed up with real estate developer Jelde van Mark to launch a real estate investment management firm targeting food-anchored retail assets across Germany.

The pair have co-founded Aventra Real Estate Investment Management (REIM), a Frankfurt-based manager that will acquire, manage and reposition neighbourhood retail properties, such as supermarkets, discounters and retail parks, on behalf of institutional and private investors.

Schwarz, who serves as co-founder and managing partner at Aventra REIM, spent 20 years at PGIM, most recently as head of Luxembourg and head of asset management and sales for the DACH, Benelux and Poland regions.

During his tenure, he oversaw transactions, investments and financings totalling several billion euros, while also serving as an AIFM board member in Luxembourg responsible for portfolio management and marketing.

Co-founder and managing partner van Mark brings more than two decades of experience in retail property revitalisation and redevelopment across Germany.

Through the van Mark Group, he manages a national portfolio and oversees an in-house facility management subsidiary providing operational execution across the property lifecycle.
