Crow Holdings – Paul Mouchakkaa has joined the firm’s investment management business, Crow Holdings Capital, as a senior managing director. Based in Dallas, Mouchakkaa will be responsible for build-to-core and core-plus investment programmes and establishing new investment strategies as well as enhancing Crow Holdings Capital’s investment committee. Most recently, Mouchakkaa served as head of real estate of Alberta Investment Management Corporation. Prior to this, Mouchakkaa served as managing partner, head of Canada with BGO and led the Canadian Investment Management team. Prior to BGO, Mouchakkaa served as managing investment director and head of real assets for the California Public Employees’ Retirement System. Mouchakkaa also was previously managing director and global head of real estate research and strategy for Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing and he served as a managing director at Pension Consulting Alliance, among other relevant work experience.
Segro – Susanne Schroeter-Crossan has been appointed chief financial officer. She will join the board as an executive director on 1 December 2025, succeeding Soumen Das who will step down at the end of the year, allowing for an orderly handover of responsibilities. Schroeter-Crossan is currently the CFO of Sennder Technologies. She is also a non-executive, supervisory board member of Zalando SE and held the same position at HelloFresh SE until stepping down at its AGM in June 2025. Prior to her role at Sennder, she was the CFO of LEG Immobilien from 2020 to 2023 and she has held a number of senior capital markets roles with global investment banks Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley and Standard Chartered in the UK, Germany and Hong Kong.
Apterra Infrastructure Capital – John Pugh has joined the firm as chief risk officer. Pugh brings to Apterra more than 25 years of experience in project finance, with investing experience in energy and infrastructure. Prior to joining Apterra, Pugh was chief risk officer at GE Vernova Financial Services. He spent most of his career in GE’s Energy Financial Services business, where he held several leadership positions, including serving as chief operating officer and head of oil & gas infrastructure portfolio.
Octopus Capital – Rodrigo Cortes has been appointed to work with the firm’s client group and real estate management committee as head of client partnerships – European Growth. Reporting into head of Spain, Cristina Pérez Liz, Cortes will focus on building relationships with capital partners and clients across EMEA for all Octopus Capital’s investment strategies, of which senior living and affordable housing in Spain will be a key initial focus. Cortes has over 19 years of experience in the financial and real estate sectors. He started his career at Goldman Sachs in London, where he spent 13 years in both the M&A team and the equity capital markets team. Following his relocation to Madrid, Cortes joined Azora Capital as head of fundraising and client development, followed by a role as managing director at Tishman Speyer. Most recently, Cortes was head of real estate at AA Advisors.
Cordiant Capital – Haig Bezian has been appointed managing director within the firm’s infrastructure credit investment practice. Bezian was previously with DigitalBridge, where he led capital markets activities across Europe. With more than 20 years of experience in global financing and private equity—including senior roles at Barclays Capital and Brookfield Financial—Bezian brings deep expertise in complex real asset transactions and capital solutions. At Cordiant, he will play a role in managing the firm’s existing credit portfolios and shaping the evolution of its infrastructure direct lending strategies.
Counterpointe Sustainable Real Estate – Huxley Somerville, has been appointed managing director to lead the firm’s asset management team across commercial mortgages, commercial property assessed clean energy and energy transactions. Somerville spent 28 years at Fitch Ratings, most recently as head of North American CMBS. His tenure at Fitch also included heading Fitch’s EMEA structured finance team in London and its AsiaPac structured finance team in Sydney, as well as co-heading REIT ratings, leading North American RMBS, and managing corporate communications. At CounterpointeSRE, Somerville will lead a team to oversee and manage assets including C-PACE, bridge loans and energy project financings.
CBRE – Angela Wibawa to join as managing director, advisory services, Indonesia. Judy Sinurat and Albert Dwiyanto appointed senior director and co-head of office services; Anton Sitorus named head of research; and Ivana Susilo as head of industrial and logistics. Wibawa has nearly 30 years of experience in this industry and will lead the Indonesian advisory team. Prior to this role, she had set up the project marketing and office leasing team in her previous company and successfully led the team to be the market leader.
AtNorth — Bjarki Björnsson has been appointed director of funding and treasury, Axel Gunnlaugsson has been appointed director of IT and Jon Mckey has been promoted to Nordic operations engineering director. With 20 years of treasury experience from positions at food processing equipment firm, Marel, and Icelandic financing company, SP-Fjármögnun , Björnsson will work closely with executive leadership, financial institutions, and cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable financial solutions and drive operational excellence. Gunnlaugsson brings 30 years of technology experience from a variety of roles including founding cloud-based repair and service management platform business, Codilac, and time as CTO of tour operator, Icelandia and CIO of 365 Media. He will lead AtNorth’s IT operations, strategy, and infrastructure management, driving the evolution of services to meet customer and operational needs while ensuring the high availability, scalability, and performance of the company’s IT and cybersecurity systems. Mckey joined atNorth in 2024 as Nordic technical manager. He has now been promoted to Nordic operations engineering director. With a background in data centre engineering from Equinix, Mckey will be responsible for leading the planning and implementation of infrastructure projects at atNorth and will ensure adherence to company standards and industry best practices.
Global Student Accommodation – Jennifer Bitterman has been appointed chief financial officer. Based in New York, Bitterman will join the executive leadership team of GSA and the broader Dot Group. With over two decades of experience spanning finance, asset management, transactions, capital markets, investor relations and compliance, Bitterman brings a depth of expertise that will enhance GSA’s financial capabilities. Bitterman joins GSA from Andover Properties, where she served as CFO since July 2023. Prior to Andover, Bitterman held the CFO role at Cedar Realty Trust, and previous to that was at Morgan Stanley within its asset management team.
Savills – The international real estate advisor has appointed six new team members to its UK industrial agency business in the Midlands, who will be based at the firm’s Birmingham office. Andrew Jackson and Robert Rae recently joined the team as directors. Jackson, with over 35 years of experience in industrial property, was formerly head of the national industrial team at Avison Young. Rae, previously principal and managing director at Avison Young, specialises in large distribution and industrial premises in the Midlands and South. In November, Savills appointed David Tew as director and Chris Hobday as associate director. In his previous role, Tew advised on large-scale and mid-box schemes for developers, funds, occupiers, and landowners. Hobday joined with over eight years of experience in the industrial and logistics sector, focused on the Midlands. Other recent joiners include Amanda Worwood as an associate and Katie Beswick as a chartered surveyor who joins from Marwood Surveyors.
L&G – Dan Batterton has been appointed head of housing, Batterton has been promoted to lead housing investment across L&G’s asset management business, encompassing build-to-rent, single family housing, affordable housing operations, purpose-built student accommodation and later living. Batterton has over 20 years of experience in the property sector. Batterton has launched several new investment strategies during his time at L&G, notably the build-to-rent platform in 2016.
CapMan Real Estate – Aleksi Konsti has taken on the role of head of Finland, overseeing investments and asset management in Finland, effective 1 June 2025. He will succeed Juhani Erke, who will now focus on leading Nordic asset management activities. Kajsa Bagler has been promoted to head of asset management, Sweden, and Alex Jacobsson to head of asset management, Denmark. In addition, the asset management team has grown with six new hires over the past six months in Denmark, Sweden and Norway, in both commercial and residential assets, to strengthen the local teams and manage our growing portfolio.
The RMR Group – Mary Smendzuik has been appointed SVP and head of capital formation. In this newly created role, Smendzuik will lead RMR’s private capital raising strategy and spearhead expanding RMR’s relationships with institutional investors. Most recently Smendzuik served as a SVP in the business development group of Torchlight Investors, where she focused on institutional investor fundraising. She also previously held a senior role at New York Life Real Estate Investors.
Union Investment — Karim Esch has been appointed member of the management board of Union Investment Real Estate, effective on 1 July. He will be responsible for investment management activities of Union Investment Real Estate. Kirsten Ludwig succeeds Esch as a member of the management board of Union Investment Institutional Property from 1 July. She will take over Esch’s responsibilities in the area of institutional fund management for open-ended and closed-ended real estate funds.
Forsters – Noel Ainsworth has been appointed partner in the law firm’s commercial real estate team, where he will establish a new real estate funds practice. Ainsworth will join the firm on 1 July 2025. Ainsworth joins from Shoosmiths and brings over 20 years’ experience in the private investment funds industry. Having previously held partner roles at Morgan Lewis & Bockius and Simmons & Simmons, as well as earlier positions at Debevoise & Plimpton and Linklaters, Noel has a strong track record advising clients on establishing real estate, real asset, debt, renewable energy, infrastructure and private equity funds and other investment structures. Noel also represents institutional investors on their fund investments, co-investments, and secondaries.
InnoEnergy – Emma Nehrenheim has been appointed managing director of the European Battery Alliance, an initiative led by InnoEnergy, under the mandate of the European Commission. Nehrenheim will lead the industrial stream of European Battery Alliance in strengthening Europe’s battery value chain and advancing efforts to build industrial capacity and long-term resilience. Nehrenheim joins InnoEnergy with more than two decades of experience in environmental engineering and battery manufacturing. Most recently, she was chief environmental officer and president of Northvolt Materials. She has also contributed to the development of the EU’s battery regulation. Earlier in her career, she held a professorship in environmental engineering and led research on industrial waste and water treatment.
Property Sense – Nigel Rawlings, Tom Lebor and Yogesh Jandauria are all joining the board as non-executive directors. Rawlings, renowned BTR expert and current chairman of Rise Homes, provides a deep understanding of the industry with his extensive experience within property and construction. Lebor is known for his expertise in strategy, growth, operations and change for sustainable success. Jandauria is an investor, landlord, and property developer with experience as an advisor for organisations including PwC, Deloitte, Lloyds Bank and HSBC.
Avison Young – Maciej Wieczorkiewicz has joined the firm’s technical advisory team in Poland. Wieczorkiewicz is an experienced engineer with many years of experience in managing fit-out projects and investments in the commercial property sector. During his career development, he has worked for companies such as Made In Terior, TECAS Fitout and Colliers Define.
