BlueCastle Capital – The build-to-rent developer and investment and asset manager has appointed Karen Archer to the role of chief financial and operating officer. Archer joins BlueCastle Capital with more than two decades of senior leadership experience in real estate investment management, most recently serving as global COO, global real estate, at Schroders Capital. In her new role, Archer will be responsible for leading BlueCastle’s finance and operational platforms, driving scalable infrastructure to support the company’s growth, and ensuring excellence across operations, governance, compliance, and investor reporting.

Delin Property – Nick Martin has been appointed chief financial officer. Martin joins Delin from Palm Capital, where he was CFO for seven years and supported its growth as an operating partner for institutional capital. Previously he worked at Tristan Capital as the finance director for three pan-European funds. Martin previously worked in a variety of roles in financial services at PwC and KPMG, subsequently moving into corporate finance at Smith and Williamson. From 2008 Martin worked as a contracted financial controller for six years, for a number of real estate companies including Macquarie and Delancey. 

Aboria Capital – The living-focused real estate investment management business has appointed Issie Armstrong to the newly created role of head of client capital. Armstrong will lead investor engagement efforts, drive targeted fundraising initiatives, and identify investment solutions to meet the evolving needs of investors. In this role, she will collaborate closely with the UBS Capital Markets team to create strategic partnerships that position Aboria for sustained success. Armstrong joins from DWS where she was head of real estate specialists, EMEA, excluding Germany/Austria. She has held roles at Aviva Investors, serving as both investment director and product development director, and at LaSalle Investment Management, where she was an associate director focused on capital raising, relationship management, and acted as a product specialist for UK PRS strategies.

Rengen DevelopmentsMartin Wheeler has been appointed executive chairman. Wheeler’s transition from board advisor to an executive role is reflective of the continued growth of the Rengen platform, and its position as a UK market-leader in small format purpose built student accomodation and co-living space. Having held leadership positions in real estate finance businesses since 2002, Wheeler co-founded Longbow Real Estate Capital in 2006. Wheeler held positions as co-head of ICG-Real Estate and was a former member of ICG PLC’s management committee.

Fiera Real EstateIgnacio Ruíz Gallego has been appointed investment associate in Fiera’s European real estate debt team as the company charts its next phase of strategic expansion into private markets investments across Iberia. Gallego was previously an associate director within CBRE’s capital advisors team where he earned experience in debt placements across Spain and wider Europe, focusing on debt origination, refinancing and capital structuring. Gallego will be responsible for originating and executing real estate debt investments in Spain and Portugal, he will play a role in the ongoing growth of the European debt strategy.  

HodgeJohn Carter has been appointed to lead the firm’s real estate finance business. Formerly commercial director at Aldermore Bank, Carter brings decades of experience in leading high-performing teams and delivering bespoke property development and investment finance solutions. His expertise will be instrumental in driving forward Hodge’s position as the lender of choice for regional property developers and professional investors across the UK. His appointment comes at an important moment in Hodge’s refreshed strategy, with the launch of a revitalised brand for its real estate finance division.

NewmarkSebastian Wallis has been appointed senior leader in the firm’s valuation team in the UK. With more than 25 years of experience in the UK property industry, Wallis brings a focus on high-value residential development and investment assets across prime central London and major regeneration zones. Prior to joining Newmark, Wallis led CBRE’s London residential valuation team. Earlier in his career, he was a partner at Knight Frank, where he led the firm’s London residential development valuation team for more than a decade. Most recently, Wallis served as a senior consultant to a family office, where he advised on portfolio refinancing and supported the delivery of multiple residential developments across central London.

AJ Capital Partners – The real estate investment manager and developer has appointed Cory Warning as chief operating officer. Warning will oversee asset management and operations for the firm, contributing to AJ’s growth initiatives across hospitality, residential and mixed-use assets. Prior to joining AJ Capital, Warning co-founded and served as president of Geller Capital Partners. Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade at Strategic Hotels & Resorts.

FaropointWill Westhoff has been appointed SVP and market officer for the Midwest region. In this role, Westhoff will oversee acquisitions, asset management, and construction practices for Faropoint’s growing Midwest portfolio, which currently encompasses approximately 4m sqft across 60 assets. Prior to joining the firm, he served as VP of acquisitions at Starwood Capital.
