Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers – Valeria Falcone has been appointed as head of a new office in Italy. Falcone joins from The Carlyle Group where she was a managing director and real estate country head for Italy. Falcone, who will report to Julian Gabriel, Cornerstone’s head of investment in Europe, will be responsible for sourcing new real estate investment opportunities and capital from Italian institutions. Prior to joining Carlyle in 2004, Falcone spent three years at Pirelli Real Estate (now Prelios).
Aviva Investors – Gregor Bamert has been appointed as head of commercial finance origination. Bamert, who joins the business later this year, will be based in London and report to Barry Fowler, managing director of Aviva Commercial Finance. He joins from Barclays, where he was managing director and head of London real estate in the corporate banking team.
Aeriance Investments – Seb Sims and Neil Sargent have been appointed as associate director and general counsel respectively. Sims joins from RBS where he was most recently a director in its real estate restructuring team. Sargent joins Aeriance from the London office of Eversheds and has also worked for Olswang.
Noerr – Annette Pospich is to the firm’s real estate investment group in Düsseldorf. Pospich joins from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe where she headed the real estate team.
