Universities Superannuation Scheme – The UK’s largest private pension scheme has appointed Ashley Harris to a newly created asset management role. Based in London and working alongside investment director Andrew Pettitt, Harris will help asset manage and grow scheme’s industrial and office portfolios. The appointment is part of a strategy by the pension fund’s property team to increase the allocation to liability matching property investments. Harris has joined from JLL, where she worked as a surveyor as part of its Central London property and asset management team. Prior to this, she spent two years at CBRE as a graduate surveyor. She started out as an Assistant Surveyor at Colliers International in 2015.

Patrizia – The real estate investment manager has appointed Eduardo de Roda as country manager Iberia. Based in the company’s Madrid office, De Roda, together with a team of eight real estate professionals, is in charge of Patrizia’s Iberian operations which currently oversees €1bn of managed assets across Spain and Portugal. He joined the Patrizia team in 2010. Since then he has been responsible for the acquisition and sales programme across the region.

IPSX Group – The commercial property securities exchange has appointed Peter Wyllie to the role of director, capital markets. Wyllie was most recently a partner at international hedge fund advisory firm Sussex Partners. He previously spent three years at Odey Asset Management, first as head of institutional sales and then as a partner working with a diverse investor base including family offices and wealth managers. Prior to that, he had a 16-year career at Deutsche Bank, where he was a founder member of the UK equities sales desk and held a variety of senior roles including head of UK sales, head of UK equities, head ofpPan-European equity sales and head of global equity sales.

Searchlight Capital PartnersAndrew Claerhout, the former head of infrastructure at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, has joined Searchlight Capital Partners as a partner. Claerhout will work alongside existing Searchlight partner Darren Glatt to lead infrastructure investments in North America and Europe. Glatt, who has been with the company for seven years, will continue to be involved in the firm’s private equity investments in media and other sectors. Claerhout spent nearly 13 years at OTTP, where he most recently lead the Canadian pension fund’s $18bn infrastructure and natural resources business. He left OTTP in February last year and joined Boston Consulting Group a month after as a senior advisor, according to his LinkedIn profile.
