QuadReal Property – Farhaz Miah has been appointed as VP of research and strategy. Prior to joining QuadReal, Miah was head of research at Hines in Europe, having previously worked at DWS and Preqin. In his new role Miah will be based in London. He will report directly to Rosemary Feenan, executive VP of research. He will be responsible for research and analysis into investment transactions and strategies, sector trends and unfolding geographies of opportunity in Europe.
GLP – The global investment manager has appointed Stefano Fissolo as senior director in charge of renewables at GLP Europe. In his new role Fissolo will be responsible for driving the growth of GLP’s onsite renewable energy programme to decarbonise its built environment by deploying rooftop solar, battery storage, electric vehicle infrastructure and other cleantech applications. Before joining GLP, Fissolo served as investment director at Swiss-based infrastructure firm SUSI Partners. Fissolo was previously co-CEO at engineering boutique Solesa. He started his career at Boston Consulting.
Schroders Capital – Johan Brakenhielm has been appointed head of Nordics real estate. Brakenhielm has most recently been the COO of Swedish real estate company Offentliga Hus. His experience also encompasses tenures at ING, CBRE Global Investors and EY’s real estate arm. In his new role, Brakenhielm will focus on strengthening the existing real estate platform in the region and on further developing the business.
Delin Property – Gary Jones has been appointed as CFO to support the company’s European growth strategy. Jones joins Delin Property after leaving Aprirose in April 2021, since when he advised a serviced apartments investor and spent six months at Queensgate Investments. Jones was COO at family-owned Aprirose and transformed it into an institutional-grade platform during his six-and-a-half years there. Before this, he was CFO at Edinburgh House Estates. Jones worked for almost 11 years at Arthur Andersen, Deloitte and KPMG advising clients, particularly in private equity and real estate, on business and tax. He joined Edinburgh House in 2006 having been its lead adviser at Deloitte. In his new role, Jones will oversee finance, legal, risk and compliance as well as bring his expertise to the smooth running of the Delin Property platform’s IT and central resourcing functions.
VIA Outlets – Thierry Seang has been appointed investment director. Seang will be responsible for defining VIA Outlets’s inorganic growth strategy across Europe and executing forthcoming real estate transactions for the company. Seang joins VIA Outlets from private equity firm Maple Knoll Capital where he served as VP of investments for six years. Prior to this, he was a senior analyst at JLL’s capital markets team.
BNP Paribas Real Estate – Paul Anglo has been appointed director of flexible office solutions. Anglo joins following a seven-year career at occupier property consultancy firm, DeVono, where he held the role of associate director. Prior to this, he served as a consultant at flexible office broker, Office Freedom. In his new position at BNP Paribas Real Estate, he will lead the firm’s office flex team which will be an integral part of the tenant representation team.
KGAL – Michael Kohl will take over strategic product responsibility and development for the open-ended funds of KGAL Investment Management. He will be responsible for the immoSUBSTANZ real estate fund launched in 2019 as well as the open infrastructure mutual fund scheduled for launch next year. He will also support new product development in this area on behalf of the entire group. Kohl has over 25 years of experience as a tax consultant at EY and from various management positions in the Commerzbank Group. At Commerz Real, where he was responsible for all of the company’s real estate funds. Most recently he was also managing director responsible for asset management in Commerzbank‘s private client business.
NREP – Jesse Shapins has joined the asset manager as head of urban strategy and design and co-lead of the urban development team, which is developing a blueprint for sustainable and inclusive neighborhoods. Shapins, a US native, joins from Sidewalk Labs, an urban planning and infrastructure subsidiary of Google, where he focused on driving transformational impact through equitable and sustainable development. During his five years at the company, he led multiple urban development projects and secured partnerships in cities across the US. Shapins was co-founder and CEO of GoPop, a VC-backed platform for visual conversation that was acquired by BuzzFeed in 2014, where he then became director of product and oversaw the company’s consumer platforms and new apps. Relocating to Copenhagen, Shapins will oversee urban strategy and design for NREP both in Denmark and internationally as it advances its urban vision across Northern Europe.
Heimstaden – The European residential real estate manager has appointed Steen Lønberg Jørgensen as head of capital raising and client relations. Jørgensen joins from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners where he served as partner and head of fundraising and investor relations.
Logos – Paul Dwyer has joined Logos as head of green data centres, based in Singapore, from Equinix. Dwyer will be responsible for continuing Logos expansion into green data centres and overseeing with joint venture partners the acquisition, development and management of current and future projects. For the past four years, Dwyer was a senior director at Equinix. He brings with him more than 16 years of real estate experience across Asia. Ben Hudson has joined Logos as head of development, data centres. He will work with existing Logos in-country teams, managing and supervising delivery of data centre projects for the company across all data centre markets in which Logos operates. Hudson joins the team from Global Switch, where he served as Asia-Pacific development director. Kieran O’Flynn, who joined Logos last year as head of leasing SEA, has transferred to support the data centre business in a newly-created role of head of data centres customers. O’Flynn’s focus will be on supporting customers’ entry, growth and expansion in the data centre sector, addressing demand across the APAC region. Prior to joining Logos, O’Flynn was with JLL in the APAC capital markets team.
Gothaer Asset Management – Janine Spieker has been appointed head of real estate. She will be responsible for all real estate investments and report to board member Christof Kessler. Spieker started her career at E.ON in 2003 and since 2014 she was responsible for their indirect real estate investments. She is also an expert on ESG strategies.
Pentagreen Capital – Temasek and HSBC’s newly created sustainable infrastructure debt financing business has appointed Marat Zapparov as its CEO. Zapparov, who has over 15 years of experience in infrastructure, energy and real assets financing, will lead Pentagreen Capital, a company that targets clean transport, renewable energy and energy storage, and water and waste management investment opportunities in Asia. Zapparov previously worked with the International Finance Corporation, Clifford Capital and HSBC. Pentagreen has also formed its board of directors, chaired by Kai Nargolwala, who is also the board chairman of Singapore Pools and 65 Equity Partners. He will be joined on the board by Zapparov; Stuart Lea, head of global banking, South Asia and global head of real assets finance at HSBC; Kelvin Tan, head of sustainable finance and investments, ASEAN at HSBC; and Connie Chan, managing director, investment, financial services at Temasek.
MaxCap – Rob Hattersley, chief investment officer of AMP Capital’s real estate division, has joined Melbourne-based non-bank lender in an expanded role as group head of capital. Hattersley would be responsible for raising capital for separate accounts, funds and deal-by-deal syndicates. Hattersley, a 30-year-plus veteran of capital raising, was with Lendlease for 21 years. He was a director of the Lendlease real estate investment trustee board for over 10 years. Before that, he worked for Mirvac for more than a decade as a director of investments.
