Clarion Partners Europe – Jasper Petit has been appointed to the newly created role of chief strategy officer. He brings nearly 20 years of pan-European real estate experience, the last ten of which have been at Bouwinvest Real Estate Investors, a longstanding LP partner of the company. Petit will be based out of Clarion Partner Europe’s newly opened Amsterdam office. Alongside CEO Alistair Calvert, he will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the company, across both new and existing product and business lines. Petit held a number of senior roles at Bouwinvest, most recently as director of European Investments.
CBRE Investment Management – Alina Iorgulescu has been appointed portfolio manager for the firm’s Europe logistics strategy. She joins CBRE IM from Tritax EuroBox, where she spent more than six years as investment director, responsible for investment strategy and building up the portfolio. Prior to her time at Tritax EuroBox, Iorgulescu held a key role on JLL’s pan-European logistics capital markets team. As portfolio manager, Iorgulescu will be responsible for designing and implementing portfolio strategies for CBRE IM’s European logistics strategy, including supervising performance and investments, and serving as the link between investors and operator teams within CBRE IM’s investor-operator platform.
PRP – The real estate investment management company has appointed Jon McAvoy as its CIO. In this role, McAvoy will oversee the company’s investment, development and asset management efforts across all sectors to grow PRP’s portfolio, including multifamily, net lease, data Centres and special situations. McAvoy will be based in Washington, DC. Prior to joining PRP, McAvoy was the CIO at Hoffman & Associates. Prior to that, McAvoy held positions at multiple Fortune 500 corporations, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Bearing Point and Harman International.
Sun Communities – John McLaren is returning to the company full-time as president to oversee its restructuring. McLaren has been with Sun for 22 years and was COO for 14 years through mid-2022. Gary Shiffman has informed the board of his intention to retire in 2025, following over 40 years of service to the company. Shiffman intends to remain on the board of directors.
PLP – The UK logistics firm has appointed William Sprott as head of investment management. Sprott will be responsible for managing the company’s relationships with its capital partners and the formation of new managed vehicles, including capital allocation and liquidity solutions. Prior to joining, he held the position of executive director of investment banking and strategic advisory at Sera Global, now part of CBRE, and before that the general manager of investment and head of corporate development for Charter Hall.
Kajima Europe – The real asset manager has appointed Andrew Ludiman as head of development and investment for its partnerships business. Ludiman joins from Homes England, where he delivered financial structures for housing and regeneration projects through joint ventures, funds and other strategic funding initiatives. Prior to Homes England, he was commercial director at Knight Dragon and director of investment at Capital & Counties. Ludiman will lead Kajima Europe’s development and investment team to grow the regeneration, development and social infrastructure arms of the business, with support from Chris Gill, MD of Kajima partnerships.
LS Estates – Paul Crosbie has been appointed business space and logistics director. Crosbie will spearhead efforts to identify and assess new opportunities. Crosbie was previously head of industrial and logistics at M&G Real Estate. His career also includes ten years at Rockspring, now Patrizia, specialising in industrial and logistics and value add investing, together with time at CBRE in London and Dubai.
GuarantCo – Dave Chalila has been appointed head of sub-Saharan Africa. In this new role, Chalila will be responsible for the growth and management of a portfolio of sustainable infrastructure projects in lower income countries across the region. Chalila joins the team from Italian export credit agency SACE where he led the business in sub-Saharan Africa and pioneered innovative funding for African multilateral institutions. Prior to that, Chalila spent six years at International Finance Corporation building the trade, supply chain finance and agribusiness portfolio for private sector clients. He has also worked for Standard Bank and Rand Merchant Bank in Johannesburg, and TDB Bank in Nairobi.
The Goodman Group – Kevin Carden has been appointed vice president of investments at JBG Design & Development, an affiliate specialising in interior design services, project planning, development, acquisitions and renovation services for The Goodman Group’s managed communities. Carden will lead the origination, evaluation, and execution of beneficial acquisition and development opportunities for The Goodman Group and its managed partnerships, including The Goodman Family Operating Foundation.
Custodian Property Income REIT – Nathan Imlach has been appointed as the new non-executive director. Imlach is currently senior independent director of Mortgage Advice Bureau and chief strategic adviser to Mattioli Woods, where his focus is on acquisitions and contributing to its future direction. Imlach was previously CFO of Mattioli Woods, company secretary of Custodian Property and a director of Custodian Capital. Imlach has joined the board of the company for a transition period up until no later than the end of 2025, at which point the board of Custodian Property will become fully independent from the company’s investment manager. Ian Mattioli will be stepping down from the board with immediate effect to focus on capitalising on the market opportunity in UK wealth management in his role as CEO of Mattioli Woods.
Copeland – Michael Toh has joined the company as president of the Asia Pacific business unit. Prior to joining Copeland, Toh led Georg Fischer’s Asia Pacific business. He previously led Honeywell Building Solutions’ Asia Pacific sales team and held various leadership roles in Johnson Controls’ Singapore, Malaysia and China operations. Toh also served as vice chairman of the board of directors of Chinaust Group.
