Orchard Street Investment Management – The specialist commercial property investment manager has appointed Lora Brill as its responsibility and ESG head. Brill joins from JLL upstream sustainability services where she was a strategic sustainability consultant, advising a wide range of property companies over the last 10 years.
Royal London Asset Management – Mark Evans has been appointed head of property and commercial development. Evans joins from CBRE. In 2009, he established and has since led the growth of CBRE’s EMEA equity placement business. Evans will lead RLAM’s property team and investment process and will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities.
Deutsche Finance International – The pan-European private equity real estate investor has appointed Magdalena Pujdak to the newly created role of capital markets director. Pujdak joins from Greystar Europe where she was a director within portfolio management responsible for capital partner relationships. Prior to that, she spent almost six years at Tristan Capital Partners where she rose through the company to the position of a director within the acquisitions team. From 2009 to 2013 Pujdak was an analyst and associate at Mountgrange Investment Management/Clearbell Capital assisting with acquisitions and joint venture management.
MEPC – The UK property group has appointed Dan Hyde senior development manager. Hyde joins from Kier Property, where he was also a senior development manager. Prior to joining Kier Property, Hyde had held senior roles at GVA Bilfinger and Knight Frank.
First Sentier Investors – John Ma has been appointed partner and head of North American infrastructure. Ma joined First Sentier Investors in December 2018, and previously held the role of director and head of infrastructure investments, North America. Marcus Ayre, previously co-head of Europe, has been appointed head of Europe, and Sydney-based Danny Latham and Chris McArthur retain their existing responsibilities as co-heads of Australia and New Zealand. Nick Grant, Gregor Kurth, Hamish Lea-Wilson have been named partners and will join the global infrastructure senior management team. Gavin Kerr has been appointed head of transactions, Australia and New Zealand. Daniel Timms has been appointed head of asset management, Australia and New Zealand.
Arrow Capital Partners – Malgorzata de la Torre has joined the company as head of acquisitions in Spain. She will be responsible for sourcing, underwriting and executing transactions in Spain on behalf of Arrow. She joins from CBRE in Spain. She was at CBRE for the last 10 years, with experience in office, retail and logistics and was responsible for leading CBRE’s team looking after the logistics expansion requirements for a leading global e-commerce company in Spain.
Mesirow Institutional Real Estate Direct – Ben Blakney has been promoted to president. Since joining Mesirow Financial in 2014, Blakney has held numerous senior positions within the multi-family value-added real estate team, most recently as senior managing director and head of strategic solutions where he led the development and implementation of client solutions and supported the group’s growth efforts. Before joining Mesirow, Blakney was a managing director at Courtland Partners. Before that, he held several senior positions, including director of institutional funds for the Dilweg Companies, president of NCM Capital, treasurer of the City of Philadelphia, and chairman of the Philadelphia Board of Pensions and Retirement.
