Get Living – Jeremy Helsby, former Savills CEO has joined the UK private rented sector specialists’ supervisory board as non-executive chairman. In his new role, Helsby‘s responsibilities will see him providing strategic advice and support for Get Living as it continues to deliver on its ambitious growth plans. Helsby spent 40 yeara at Savills, 11 years of which were spent as CEO, prior to his retirement in 2019.
Duke Realty – The US logistics property REIT has appointed Tamara D Fischer to its board of directors. Fischer is president and CEO of National Storage Affiliates Trust and a member of its board of trustees. Fischer joined NSA at its inception in 2013 and served as its executive vice president and CFO from 2013 until 2018 and its president and CFO from 2018 until being named president and CEO in 2020. Before joining NSA, she served as executive vice president and CFO of Vintage Wine Trust from 2004 to 2008. From 1993 to 2003, Fischer served as executive vice president and CFO of Chateau Communities. Prior to joining Chateau, Fischer served as a member of the audit staff at Coopers & Lybrand – now PwC
AEW – Xavier de Saqui de Sannes has been appointed head of institutional asset management in France. He joins the €70.2bn real estate asset manager with over 30 years’ experience having held positions at Invesco Real Estate as asset management director, DTZ Asset Management as senior asset manager and CapGemini Conseil as managing consultant. In his new position, he will oversee the creation and implementation of business plans across the portfolio in France on behalf of AEW’s institutional clients.
Man Group – Anthony Cazazian, Eric Atlas and David Layton have joined the investment firm’s private markets unit’s US real estate team. Cazazian joined in November as head of US residential real estate; Atlas joined in December as head of US residential debt and Layton has been appointed as head of asset management for US debt. Cazazian joins with 14 years of commercial and residential real estate experience in a variety of roles including CIO at Renters Warehouse, EVP & head of originations at B2R Finance (now Finance of America Commercial), and VP at Goldman Sachs in their real estate investment banking and finance groups. Atlas has over a decade of industry experience, and joins from 1Sharpe Capital where he was a portfolio manager. Prior to that, he worked at Cerberus Capital Management in their residential credit group. Layton joins with more than 25 years of experience in the US commercial real estate sector and previously led asset management for Benefit Street Partners CRE, Realty Finance Trust and Global Net Lease. Prior to these roles, he spent a decade at Brookfield Asset Management working on underwriting, origination and managing a portfolio of commercial real estate loans and REO for Brookfield’s high-yield debt group.
Cushman & Wakefield – Stefan Giesemann has joined the real estate services firm’s EMEA hospitality team in Germany as a partner and head of Hospitality from JLL. Giesemann joins from JLL’s hotels and hospitality team in Munich. Josef Filser and Christian Kirchhoff have also joined Cushman & Wakefield from JLL as associate directors. Filser has been with JLL for eight years. Kirchhoff joined the Munich team almost five years ago from EY and will head operator selection, contract negotiations and strategic hotel advisory. Nora Bruskowski has been appointed as senior consultant. The company said these appointments complete the firm’s full-service hospitality offer in Germany.
Urban&Civic – The UK housebuilder has appointed Bill Holland as independent non-executive director to take effect following the AGM. Holland will be appointed as chair of the audit committee and Ian Barlow will step down as chair of the audit committee, both with effect from 6 February. Barlow will continue to hold the position of senior independent director. Holland is a former partner of KPMG. He is a non-executive director of CLS Holdings and non-executive director and chair of the audit committee of Ground Rents Income Fund.
Redos Group – Sonja Naber has joined, redos institutional, a subsidiary of the Hamburg-based retail property specialists, as senior transaction manager. In her new role, she will assume a range of responsibilities within the area of transaction management. Naber joins from international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where she worked for six and a half years, most recently as principal associate in real estate law.
