AXA Investment Managers - Real Assets – The real assets manager has appointed Laurent Lavergne as global head of asset management and development and Timothé Rauly as head of fund management. Lavergne, who is currently co-head of fund management alongside Rauly, and already sits on the AXA IM - Real Assets board, will replace Andrew Stainer who has made the personal decision to move back to his home country of Australia. Stainer will remain actively involved with AXA IM - Real Assets as a strategic advisor, reporting directly to CEO, Isabelle Scemama, but will step down from the management board. Lavergne has over 25 years’ experience of real estate investment and management and has been at AXA IM - Real Assets since 1994.
Heimstaden – Nordic residential property firm Heimstaden has appointed Søren Vendelbo Jacobsen as its new co-CIO. Vendelbo will share the role’s duties with current CIO Christian Fladeland. Vendelbo Jacobsen currently works for Danish labour-market pension fund Sampension as head of real estate and infrastructure, having worked for the fund for over nine years in various managerial roles. Vendelbo Jacobsen also currently sits on the supervisory boards of Sampension Renewables, Danish clean energy firm Nature Energy, and real estate firms DEAS Invest and Falcorner Holding, according to his LinkedIn profile.
JLL – Tero Lehtonen has been appointed as CEO of JLL Finland to succeed Christian Hohenthal who will leave in January 2020 to join Sponda as CEO. Having joined JLL in 2006, Lehtonen has made major contributions to build-up and position JLL’s valuation and advisory services offering. He has served in a range of increasingly senior positions, including head of Finnish valuation and advisory, before being appointed as COO of the Finnish business in 2019. As the newly appointed CEO of JLL Finland, Lehtonen will assume overall leadership responsibility for JLL’s strategic development and continued growth of the business.
Ancala Partners – The infrastructure investment manager has appointed Enrico Loewenthal as vice president. Loewenthal joins the investment team at Ancala as part of its continued expansion into mid-market infrastructure opportunities in Europe. In his new role, Loewenthal will assist with sourcing, analysing, executing and asset managing of investments in Europe. Prior to joining Ancala, he spent five years at Petroleum Equity working on real-asset investments with a focus on oil and gas, infrastructure and industrials. Loewenthal also worked for Barclays Natural Resource Investments, a principal investing team within Barclays, where he focused on the energy sector.
Architrave – The provider for digital real estate management has appointed Ashley Smallwood as its new COO. Before joining Architrave, Smallwood was part of the senior management in Australia and China at REA Group, a Melbourne-based digital service provider for real estate portals, at the Australian digital company View.com and at the Berlin-based Scout24 Group, where he held the position as vice president operations.
