PensionDanmark is buying a hotel and two office buildings in Jutland in the west of Denmark.

The labour-market pension fund said it has signed a deal to buy a hotel and an office building in the Skejby area of Aarhus from developer NCC, for an undisclosed sum.

The office has 6,300sqm of space ready for occupation in March 2019, with more than a third of the space already let.

The hotel, which has 3,200sqm of space, is due for completion in May 2019.

Torben Möger Pedersen, chief executive of PensionDanmark, said: “We are very pleased to have been able to add these commercial properties to our portfolio.”

The location is good, he said. The pension fund already owns a property in the area.

“This is an investment with solid tenants on long leases, so we expect the investments to give our members a good return over many years,” Möger Pedersen said.

The pension fund also announced it is investing DKK97m (€13m) in an office building in Herning in Jutland, buying the asset from property leasing company Ejendomsselskabet MC ApS.

The 6,411sqm building is the headquarters of engineering consultancy Midtconsult.

The pension fund said it was its first real estate buy in Herning and added to its gradually increasing property portfolio in Jutland.
