GLOBAL - AEW Europe, Henderson Global Investors, EISER Infrastructure Partners, iii-investments, APG, Aviva Investors

AEW Europe - Russell Jewell has been appointed head of private equity funds at the real estate investment manager. Based in London and reporting to chief investment officer Rob Wilkinson, Jewell will be responsible for managing and developing the company's private equity real estate funds. Prior to joining AEW, he served as managing director for Europe at Strategic Value Partners and before then was European head at Merrill Lynch's Global Principal Investments.

Henderson Global Investors - The company's property business has hired Jasper Gilbey as a fund manager for its €117m AUB French Logistics fund. Gilbey will be based in Henderson's Paris office. He will be in charge of the strategy and the fund management of the AUB French Logistics fund, which was launched in 2005 to target logistics and industrial property throughout France.

EISER Infrastructure Partners - The infrastructure fund manager has established a senior-level advisory board to provide strategic support across the business. The board comprises Thomas Bone-Winkel, a partner at German advisory firm Bone-Winkel & Company; Gavin McQuater, former global head of project finance at law firm Lovells; Andrew Reicher, former head of the programme management unit at the Private Infrastructure Development Group; and Stefano Venier, general manager of markets and development at Italian multi-utility Hera Group.

iii-investments - Jost Wanninger, managing director responsible for real estate transactions and administration, will retire at the end of August. Reinhard Mattern, who has been managing director since 2004, will assume Wanninger's responsibilities in addition to continuing his oversight of portfolio management, research and institutional client management.

APG - Leo Hertog has started as a real estate analyst at the €272bn asset manager APG as of 1 July. Previously, Hertog was an asset manager at DTZ Zadelhoff, an adviser and broker on commercial property.

Aviva Investors - The company has entered the Swiss market with an office opening in Zurich and the appointment of two business development directors: Fabio Ferra and Karsten-Dirk Steffens. Before joining Aviva, both worked at AXA Investment Managers - Ferra as senior sales director, and Steffens as head of client service for Switzerland.
