LaSalle Investment Management – David Ironside is replacing Andy Watson as CIO for Continental Europe. With LaSalle since 2001, Ironside previously spent four years at Bayernfonds/Real IS, the subsidiary of Bayerische Landesbank. Watson, who has left the company, was named CIO in a reshuffle in January last year, having previously been managing director for Continental Europe. The company also said Rene Hoepfner has been hired to join the global Client Capital Group in Munich. Hoepfner, who joins next month, was previously at Ardian and has also worked for Mercer in the Bavarian capital.
UBS Asset Management – Derek Lai has been appointed as senior portfolio manager in Greater China. Lai will also be a member of the manager’s Asia Pacific Management Committee. Based in Hong Kong, Lai joins from Macquarie Capital, where he was senior vice-president and co-chief officer of real estate.
Savills – The advisory firm has recruited four Deloitte Real Estate staff. Jamie Olley, Thomas Reeves, Jamie Binstock and David McArthur will relocate to Savills City Office in June and work alongside Savills’s existing City investment team.
Cording – Rodney Bysh has been named chief executive. Bysh will also be responsible for the company’s German and Dutch offices. He joined Cording in 2013 after the merger with Feldberg Capital, where he was chief executive. Will Amies, with the company since 2013, will become deputy chief executive, responsible for the UK office, as well as being head of business development. Mark Millar will become head of investment, while Peter Dove will remain as head of UK asset and property management. Rebecca Wyld has been named business development manager, joining from BlackRock.
Catella – Henrik Gripenvik has been appointed portfolio manager, joining from Futuris Asset Management, part of the Brummer & Partners group. He will join the firm next month.
Capra Global Partners – Ashley Marks has joined as director to lead the creation of a real estate secondary market and fund restructuring business. Marks was formerly a director at JLL Corporate Finance for nine years. He has also worked for Cushman & Wakefield.
Legal & General Capital – James Lidgate has been named director of housing. Lidgate joins from LGIM, where he was head of residential within the firm’s Real Assets business.
M7 Real Estate – David Simmonds has been named CFO. Based in London, Simmonds joins from APN Property Group, where he was finance director of the Australian Securities exchange-listed Industria REIT.
London Central Portfolio – Rick Denton has been appointed non-executive board director. Denton has held directorships within the Coutts Group, Bank of Bermuda, Fortis and Barclays.
Segro – Justin Read is to retire later this year from the role of group finance director. Segro said its board would now search for his successor.
