Charter Hall, AMP Capital, Octopus Group, Pensions Infrastructure Platform, TT International, Schroders, CBRE GI, Avignon Capital
AMP Capital – Patrick Trears has been appointed global head of infrastructure debt. New York-based Trears, who was Americas infrastructure debt head, succeeds departing global head Andrew Jones. As part of a newly formed global partners group, AMP has appointed infrastructure equity partners Simon Ellis, Matt Evans and Ruben Bhagobati head of Americas and co-heads of Europe, respectively, for the firm’s broader business in addition to their infrastructure responsibilities. Their remit will include the development of regional strategy, overseeing fundraising and client activities, and recruitment and retention.
Charter Hall – The ASX-listed property investor has appointed Carmel Hourigan as office CEO, replacing Adrian Taylor who will leave the company to pursue other opportunities. Hourigan will join the Charter Hall executive committee and take on the role of Office CEO, having recently announced her resignation as global head of real estate at AMP Capital. Prior to AMP Capital, Hourigan held senior roles at GPT Group, Lend Lease and Colonial First State. Hourigan is a current board director of the Property Council of Australia; serves as special advisor to the Property Male Champions of Change group; and is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute. Hourigan is also a member of the trustee board and is deputy chancellor of Western Sydney University. Taylor joined Charter Hall with the acquisition of the Macquarie real estate platform in 2010.
Avignon Capital – Michel Snoek has joined the European property investment firm as COO. Prior to joining Avignon he spent over ten years as a partner at a Dutch law firm specialising in real estate, commercial contracting, and litigation. In the newly-created COO role, Snoek will be responsible for the day-to-day operations including the implementation of new policies, compliance, and risk management.
Schroders – CBRE Global Investors EMEA CEO and CIO Sophie van Oosterom is replacing Duncan Owen as Schroders real estate head. Van Oosterom will join in January 2021 as global head of the €19.2bn real estate business to oversee the direct and indirect property portfolio. Owen will step down in December and become a special advisor. Before joining CBRE GI she was a managing director and European head of asset management of the Lehman Brothers Real Estate Partners private equity funds which is now Silverpeak Real Estate Partners. After almost 9 years at Schroders, Owen has decided to step down from the role of global head of real estate. He will continue with the business as a special advisor to Schroders Real Estate, with a focus on continuing to advise the Schroders UK REIT and the Schroder Real Estate Investment Management board in relation to the newly acquired Schroders Pamfleet entity in Asia, where he will sit on the board.
Octopus Group – Tancredi Micangeli and Angela Gyulveszy have been appointed distribution managers to help build the manager’s long-term relationships with institutional investors. Micangeli joins from asset manager TT International. Gyulveszy joins from Pensions Infrastructure Platform, where she was an investment relations director. She previously held positions at both AXA Investments Managers and EMAC Capital.
