Savills Investment Management – Emily Hamilton has joined the real estate investment manager as head of environmental, social and governance. Hamilton will be based in London with responsibility for directing Savills IM’s global sustainability strategy, setting the company’s corporate standards and approach to ESG. She joins from Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, part of Grosvenor Group where she was associate director, sustainability, most recently advising on the company’s market-leading climate change strategy. She began her career as a sustainability consultant at Capita Symonds working on environmental and community infrastructure planning projects before being appointed sustainability officer for the University of East London prior to joining Grosvenor in 2013.
Hines – Xavier Musseau, senior managing director since July 2019, has been appointed president of Hines France. Patrick Albrand who founded Hines France with Olivier de Dampierre, is stepping away from his leadership role to assume a more strategic focus after more than 25 years at the helm. Albrand was appointed managing director in 1995 and took over as president of Hines France in 2014. Musseau joined Hines in 2000 to lead the finance and acquisition team. He was promoted to managing director in 2013. He is also president of Hines SGP, Hines’ management company licensed by French Financial Market Authorities AMF in 2018. Previously, Musseau spent 10 years in banking working for Credit Lyonnais.
Meyer Bergman – The private equity real estate manager has appointed Lily Lin managing director for the UK and Ireland. She will also be focussing on acquisitions, deal origination, and business development across the UK and Irish markets. She joins from the UK arm of Chinese developer China Vanke. Prior to opening Vanke’s UK operations, Lin worked at UBS in London from 2006 to 2014. At UBS, she held a variety of roles across UK and pan-European real estate funds, in both equity acquisitions and debt origination. Before UBS, Lin was on the investment team at Ascendas.
KGAL Investment Management – Thomas Engelmann and Carsten Haubner have been appointed head of energy transition infrastructure and portfolio manager respectively. As of 1 July 2020, Engelmann has been responsible for establishing and expanding the new energy transition subsection at KGAL. He joins the company after several years as head of transaction and investment management at Allianz Global Investors. He previously worked as senior project manager for renewables and infrastructure at KGAL between 2008 and 2013. Before that, he was in charge of several senior management positions at Siemens Energy and Siemens Financial Services. Haubner joined as portfolio manager on the KGAL infrastructure team beginning of 2020. He will be in charge of the successor fund to ESPF 4, which is set to launch shortly. Before that, he spent many years at Siemens Bank, heading the risk rating, project and structure finance department and hold various senior positions at UniCredit Bank and Bank Vontobel Europe.
Apex Group – The global financial services provider has appointed Barry Hindmarch to the newly created role of head of real estate, UK & Ireland and Channel Islands. Hindmarch will lead the continued development of Apex’s real estate fund services business in the region, including the growth and management of real estate client relationships. Hindmarch was previously at Blackrock, where he was a director with responsibility for managing the finance team reporting on various open and closed-ended EMEA real estate funds. Prior to this, Hindmarch spent five years at AXA Real Estate holding positions including global head of fund accounting and UK head of AXA & Mandates Accounting. He has also held fund accounting roles at Patrizia, Aberdeen Property Investment Managers and Lazard Brothers Merchant Bank.
Patrizia – Aaron Scott has joined manager’s office in Zurich to lead strategy and ESG. Before joining Patrizia, Scott spent 20 years in change management and strategy development for the National Australian Bank in Melbourne and UBS in London and Zurich.
St Modwen Properties – Sarwjit Sambhi has been appointed CEO with effect from 2 November 2020. Sambhi was most recently CEO of Centrica Consumer and a member of the board at Centrica PLC. He held various senior positions during his 19-year tenure at the company, including strategy, finance, major capital projects and renewable energy, before leading its consumer business. Prior to Centrica, Sambhi was at the technology and management consultancy, Booz Allen & Hamilton.
Cromwell Property – Elwira Pyrkowska has joined the real estate manager as head of asset management, CEE. Pyrkowska will be based in Cromwell’s Polish office. She has worked in a number of different roles, most recently as an asset manager for international funds such as Pradera Management Poland, Heitman Financial, CBRE Global Investors and Newbridge Poland.
Seaford Finance – The real estate debt consultant has appointed Jon Warman as managing director of loan origination and execution. He joins the partnership with a focus on accelerating the growth of the business in the UK and Europe. Warman joins from Spring11, where he spent 5 years as co-head of the European real estate advisory business. Prior to this, he was a director in LNR Europe’s investment management and NPL advisory division.
Ingka Centres – Cindy Andersen is joining the shopping centres owner as managing director from February 2021. Andersen joins from Inter IKEA Group and will act as MD designate with immediate effect. She has held various positions at IKEA of Sweden – part of Inter IKEA Group – since 2008, where her last position was global business area manager for one of the key business areas. Prior to joining Inter IKEA Group Cindy had various position within AP Moller-Maersk group in China and Sweden. Gerard Groener will formally step down as MD in February 2021 and after that, he will continue to act as a senior advisor to Ingka Centres.
Hammerson – The UK-listed REIT has appointed Rita-Rose Gagné as chief executive officer and executive director. Gagné, who was most recently president of growth markets at Ivanhoé Cambridge, replaces David Atkins whose departure was announced in May this year. Gagné joined Ivanhoé Cambridge in 2006 and held a variety of roles from senior vice president, legal affairs and general counsel at Société immobilière Trans-Québec to executive VP of global strategy, portfolio management and investment funds at Ivanhoé Cambridge.
Alpha Real Capital – The specialist manager of secure income real assets has appointed Roger Mountford as senior pensions adviser. Mountford has held a range of board and trustee positions across the private and public sectors and chaired several large pension schemes. He has a special interest in private assets, including infrastructure, social housing, and private equity. Mountford is currently chair of the trustee of the Lafarge UK Pension Plan, is a government-appointed director of HS2 Limited and has served on the boards of the Allied Domecq, Civil Aviation Authority and Church of England pensions boards.
