People moves: Octopus names Davis CEO of newly merged property arms, Berti to leave

Octopus Group – Benjamin Davis, the current CEO of Octopus Healthcare, has been appointed to lead Octopus Group’s newly merged £2bn property divisions. Octopus Healthcare and Octopus Property have been merged to form Octopus Real Estate to maximise on the growth potential within the UK property market, the company said. As part of the merger, Mario Berti, who has been with Octopus for nine years and most recently as CEO of Octopus Property, will be leaving Octopus.
BNP Paribas REIM – Carlos Camurça has been appointed to lead the real estate manager’s investment in France. Camurça joined BNP Paribas REIM France in 2012 as fund manager before heading a team of fund managers. He started his career in real estate audit in 2005 at PwC, before joining the research and strategy department of AXA Real Assets in 2008. Claire Grandin, deputy head of investment in France, has been appointed to oversee investments for French funds. Grandin joined BNP Paribas REIM France as an investment manager before being appointed deputy head last year.
Cording Real Estate Group – James Whidborne has been hired to lead Cording’s UK residential fund management. Whidborne will have oversight of Cording’s two existing private rental sector funds, Cording UK Residential Investment Fund and PRS Club 1, while also helping to grow new residential investment products. He joins from Savills Investment Management, where he was a director in the fund management team. Prior to working in fund management, Whidborne worked at Savills in its affordable housing consultancy team.
Cluttons Investment Management – Ian Harvey has joined the £250m property manager as a consultant and chair of the investment committee, with a focus on business development and supporting the growth of the business. Harvey has worked with a broad range of clients – including private and public pension funds, wealth managers, charities and endowments. Most recently Harvey worked in the equity division of Stonehage Fleming, the multi-family office.
Urban&Civic – The master developer has appointed Rosemary Boot and Sanjeev Sharma as independent non-executive directors. Boot is a non-executive director of Southern Water Services and Impact Healthcare REIT, and a trustee of the Green Alliance, the environmental think tank. Sharma is chief property portfolio officer at M&G Real Estate.
