Nuveen Real Estate – The global real estate investment manager has hired Chad Phillips and Brian Tilton as portfolio managers for its office and industrial sector strategies. Phillips joins from Guggenheim Real Estate where he oversaw the firm’s investment strategies, acquisitions, financings and dispositions as a portfolio manager. He is based in the firm’s Charlotte office. Tilton joins from Canada Pension Plan Investment Board where he led its US industrial team and was responsible for investment strategy, sourcing, underwriting and structuring programmatic joint ventures and equity investments. Nuveen Real Estate manages a global office and industrial portfolio of $36bn and $11.2bn respectively.
Palace Capital – The listed UK property investment firm has appointed Abigail Rowton as an asset manager. Rowton will support the property team in deploying the company’s strategy and maximising the potential of its £285m portfolio. Rowton joins from Aberdeen Standard Investments where she spent three years as associate asset manager. She started her career as a graduate surveyor at GVA, moving to Lothbury Investment Management in 2012, where she was assistant fund manager for over two years, before joining Strutt & Parker as an associate in the property wealth management division.
Europa Capital – The pan-European real estate investment manager has appointed Eric Biren as partner to lead a new Luxembourg office. Biren has worked with Europa Capital as consultant in an advisory capacity for the last 20 years. Prior to joining Europa Capital on a permanent basis, he was a managing director of JTC Signes.
Moda Living – Kate Barnes has joined the UK private rented housing investor from Urban Bubble. Barnes has been appointed general manager at Moda’s flagship development, Angel Gardens in Manchester. Angel Gardens is set to open in 2019. She will be responsible for the set-up of the operations and recruiting a further 14 members of staff to deliver service to the scheme’s 466 apartments. Sarah Flint, previously asset management director at real estate consultancy LIV, has joined Moda HQ as head of asset management.
BRG – Ian Mackie has been appointed as a London-based managing director to lead a new real estate and fixed asset valuation practice in the EMEA. Mackie has over 25 years of experience in providing valuation services for real estate and fixed-asset investments. Most recently, Mackie spent eight years as a senior managing director at a global consulting firm. Prior to this, he was a founding partner of the corporate and real estate consulting practice, Bourne Business Consulting.
Medici Living Group – The co-living provider in Europe and the US has appointed Nicolas Dugerdil to lead its expansion in Iberia. Dugerdil has been appointed director expansion Iberia to help the firm expand into Spain and Portugal. Based in Barcelona, he will be spearheading the group’s expansion and roll-out of the QUARTERS co-living brand in the region. Dugerdil joins from Inditex Group, managing the fashion brand’s entire real estate portfolio and leading its international development.
