Crest Nicholson – Peter Truscott, CEO of Galliford Try, is joining the UK housebuilder’s board. Truscott will replace Patrick Bergin who has agreed to step down from the CEO role and from the board. Truscott will become the CEO following the cessation of his contract with rival firm Galliford Try in September. In the interim, Chris Tinker, currently chairman of major projects and strategic partnerships and board director, will become interim CEO and will be supported by chairman Stephen Stone. Truscott became CEO of Galliford in October 2015. Prior to joining Galliford Try he was divisional chairman, South at Taylor Wimpey and a member of its group management team. He spent 19 years at Taylor Wimpey and George Wimpey and has also previously held positions at CALA Homes.
AMP Capital – Rebecca Smith has been appointed to a newly-created role as head of real estate debt. Smith, who joined from Australia’s Future Fund, where she was director of property, will build up the fund manager’s real estate debt capability to complement its established infrastructure debt operation. AMP Capital’s bolstered its infrastructure debt capability in late 2017 with the acquisition of the US real estate equity and debt manager PCCP. Smith has experience across the US, Europe and Australia through her previous roles with firms such as PAG, NM Rothschild & Sons, and CBRE.
Residential Secure Income – Gillian Rowley has been appointed independent non-executive director of company’s social housing provider, ReSI Housing. Rowley was head of private finance at the former social housing regulator, the Homes & Communities Agency, where for 13 years she was responsible for relationships with lenders, investors, advisers and credit rating agencies operating in the social housing sector. This overlapped with Rowley serving as the non-executive director for The Housing Finance Corporation from 2006 – 2012.
Eversheds Sutherland – Thekla Fellas has joined as a new partner in the company law firm’s real estate litigation team. Fellas joins from Fladgate where she was head of real estate litigation for six years, and previously was a partner at DAC Beachcroft. Fellas will build a team around her specialism in “Telecoms Code” disputes. The new unit will specialise in advising landlords, occupiers and investors on the scope of the new Code.
Cloudscraper – Martin Meissner has been appointed to the Cloudscraper Advisory Board in Germany. Meissner is a founding partner of Reed Smith‘s Frankfurt office and a member of the Real Estate Group. Meissner will be advising Cloudscraper on matters which directly impact how market participants interact with legal advisors. He also holds a seat as a professor at the University of applied science in Mainz.
G5 – The real estate marketing firm has appointed Meggan Shaw-Butler as senior director of multifamily strategy. Shaw-Butler served as vice president of asset management for Pensam Residential. Shaw-Butler also led the company’s marketing efforts, including brand development and digital marketing strategies.
