People moves: Brennan to succeed Marrison as LaSalle Europe CEO

LaSalle Investment Management – Karen Brennan has been appointed to succeed Simon Marrison as the firm’s CEO for Europe. Brennan, head of LaSalle’s Americas custom accounts will assume the new role for the $22bn Europe business on 30 June when Marrison transitions to assume a chairman role for the business. Brennan joined LaSalle in 1999. From 2008 to 2012, she relocated to the firm’s Singapore and Hong Kong offices where she held the role of portfolio manager, ex-Japan, for LaSalle’s Asia opportunity funds. Marrison, who has been CEO for Europe for 12 year, joined LaSalle in 2001.
CBRE – James O’Neill has been joined the real estate advisor’s equity placement business as senior director. In his new role with the capital advisors team, O’Neill will be responsible for creating innovative equity and debt investment solutions that match investors needs with investment managers and developers. O’Neill joins from Legal and General Investment Management Real Assets where he spent five years as head of the client capital group. Prior to this, he spent seven years at The Grosvenor Estate and four years at PWC.
Baytree Logistics Properties – AXA Investment Managers - Real Assets’ logistics and industrial development platform has appointment Dominik Weis as senior development manager for Germany. Based in Frankfurt, Weis play a key role in supporting the growth of Baytree’s development activities in Germany. Weis previously worked in senior development and investment roles at a number of logistics property companies including Harder & Partner, Segro and Garbe.
Cushman & Wakefield – The real estate services firm’s EMEA hospitality team has moved into the Spanish market with the recruitment of the entire senior team of Magma Hospitality Consulting. Magma’s founding partners Albert Grau and Bruno Hallé join as co-heads of Cushman & Wakefield Hospitality Spain, with two senior consultants, Marga Claret and Ana Rojas, also joining the global real estate services firm. Grau and Hallé set up Magma Hospitality Consulting in 2004.
Avant Asset Management – Sampa Ratia has been appointed as new managing director of Avant Asset Management, a subsidiary of the Finnish real estate manager Avant Capital Partners. Ratia will take the lead on the asset management business initiatives. He joins the company after working at Finnish sustainability-focused property development firm LeaseGreen Group, where he was responsible for the business’ international operations. He has also previously worked as group CEO at property management company Corbel and as head of asset management at Aberdeen Standard Investments.
Cloudscraper – The real estate exchange, data and communication platform has appointed Matthew Webster CEO. Webster was previously Cloudscraper’s CFO and prior to his joining Cloudscraper he held the position of global head of real estate finance at HSBC. Prior to HSBC, Matthew held senior real estate roles at Hypo Real Estate, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Fitch Ratings.
Arabian Centres Company – The shipping centres operator has appointment Olivier Nougarou as the company’s new CEO. Nougarou was previously CEO for Germany at Unibail-Rodamco Group. He previously also worked as managing director in Russia for Morgan Stanley Real Estate.
