Denham Capital – Justin DeAngelis has been appointed global head of sustainable infrastructure. Previously, DeAngelis served as partner & co-head of Denham’s sustainable infrastructure arm alongside Scott Mackin for approximately four years. Mackin will remain in his role as partner and head of London office. In his new role, DeAngelis will assume full responsibility for the sustainable infrastructure unit’s leadership and execution. DeAngelis has over 25 years of global investment, fundraising and operational experience, dating back to his time working in power plants.
Barings – Sascha Specketer has been appointed MD, head of distribution for DACH. In his new role, Specketer will be responsible for leading distribution in the DACH region, covering institutional and wealth channels across Barings’ full suite of investment capabilities and products. Specketer joins Barings from Invesco Asset Management where he was head of distribution for DACH & CEE for more than 7 years. He has also held positions at Source, a company founded by Goldman Sachs, Bear Stearns International and RCM/ Allianz Global Investors.
Franklin Templeton – Will Devenney has been appointed as MD and head of Europe infrastructure debt. He is joined by Richard Hulme, MD, and Dapo Ogunbiyi, executive director, also based in London. Devenney joins from Power Sustainable. Prior to this, Devenney led the European infrastructure debt team at Legal & General Investment Management and has held senior roles in infrastructure investment banking at RBC and HSBC. Hulme joins the firm from Power Sustainable, where he was a founding member of the infrastructure debt platform. Prior to this, he was a founding member of the infrastructure debt platform at UBS Asset Management. Ogunbiyi was a founding member of the infrastructure debt team at Power Sustainable alongside Devenney and Hulme. Previously, he was part of the infrastructure debt team and the fund manager of the infrastructure equity strategy at Legal & General Investment Management, having started his career with Lloyds Bank’s capital markets division.
Clarion Partners – Bill Glascott has joined the firm as managing director, head of alternatives housing. In this role, he will be responsible for driving the expansion of Clarion’s housing sector capabilities, with a strong focus on creating, implementing, and scaling strategies in sectors such as single-family rental, manufactured housing, and student housing. Glascott joins Clarion having served as CIO for Green Courte Partners a sponsor of real estate private equity funds focused on niche real estate sectors. Prior to this, Glascott spent twelve years with Hometown America, where he helped Hometown grow into one of the nation’s largest private owners of manufactured housing communities.
Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan – Kevin Kerr, the head of the Canadian pension fund’s infrastructure team in the Americas has been appointed to the newly created role of executive managing director of portfolio solutions. Ontario Teachers’ said Kerr’s replacement will be announced in due course. Kerr has been investing in infrastructure at Ontario Teachers’ for over 13 years. He has also held senior investment roles at Bastion Infrastructure Group and OMERS. The newly created portfolio solutions department will integrate value creation and portfolio management capabilities from across Ontario Teachers’ private asset groups.
LaSalle Investment Management – Jon Zehner, vice chairman, will retire from the firm effective 31 December 2024. Zehner joined LaSalle in 2012 as global head of LaSalle’s investor relations team. He assumed responsibility for LaSalle global partner solutions at the end of 2019 and headed the business until it merged with LaSalle’s securities arm, to form the LaSalle global solutions unit, in 2023. Since early 2023, Zehner has been vice chairman of LaSalle. Zehner’s career in real estate began in 1981 at JPMorgan, where he spent 28 years in a variety of corporate finance roles including global head of real estate investment banking and head of sub-Saharan Africa before joining AREA Property Partners (now ARES) as a senior director in 2009.
Colliers – Jeroen Lokerse has been appointed CEO of the Netherlands. Lokerse will be responsible for accelerating the strategic direction and sustained growth of the Dutch business while enhancing the opportunities available to our people within the Netherlands. Lokerse joins Colliers from a 17-year tenure at Cushman & Wakefield, most recently holding a global product innovation role and previously serving as the head of the Netherlands for more than a decade. As Lokerse steps into the CEO Netherlands role, Dirk Bakker will centre his expertise on leading the European team of hotel specialists as the head of hotels, EMEA. Lokerse will join Colliers in January 2025 and Bakker’s new role will also commence in the new year.
Panattoni – The logistics real estate developer has appointed Jack Franklin from PGIM Real Estate as its new capital markets director. Franklin will join in Panattoni’s UK team, where he will focus on the capitalisation and transaction management of projects throughout the UK. Based in the London office, he will work with Nick Cripps, executive director of European Capital Markets, and form part of Panattoni’s global capital markets network. Franklin has 12 years’ experience in the real estate sector, latterly as a VP at PGIM Real Estate, where he focused on the origination, structuring and execution of value-add debt transactions.
Addington – David Watt has been appointed senior advisor to help develop the firm’s Asian investor network, building on its existing relationships with Hong Kong investors in the London office market. Watt’s new role will be alongside his existing advisory roles in Hong Kong and London. Watt has over 40 years’ experience in the Asia and European markets and has acted on the development and investment of commercial projects across more than twenty countries. In Asia, Watt led the development team for China Central Place, Beijing and i-Square, Hong Kong. He has also worked on fund strategy and set-ups in Korea and SE Asia.
I Squared Capital – Patricia Menéndez Cambó has been appointed general counsel. Menéndez Cambó joins I Squared Capital from SoftBank Group, where she served as managing partner and deputy general counsel. She was also a board member and general counsel of the SoftBank Latin America Fund and SB Opportunity Fund, and a member of the board of directors and the investment committee of SBLA. Prior to her tenure at SoftBank, Menéndez Cambó was the vice chair of Greenberg Traurig and a member of the executive committee. During her time at Greenberg Traurig, she held numerous practice leadership positions. Her experience also includes serving as subdirector general for Telefonica SA, where she was a member of the board of directors and general counsel to several of Telefonica’s global new technology subsidiaries.
Enfinity Global – The renewable energy firm has appointed Mark Culpepper as the new global head of asset management. Culpepper will lead the implementation of scalable processes and systems that optimise operational portfolio performance. Culpepper has held leadership roles in companies like Zeitview and as CEO and founder of Precision XYZ. Mark started his career in the solar industry in 2006 at SunEdison, where he served as chief technology officer and general manager for global services.
Criterion Real Estate Capital – Adam Matos and Ben Milde have been appointed MD and COO respectively. Brett Kantor, who has been with the firm since 2014, has been promoted to MD. Matos and Milde will work directly with Kantor and Criterion’s founder and managing partner, Chuck Rosenzweig, to advance the firm’s strategy of investing in assets in US gateway markets through the origination of structured high-yield debt, participating loans, preferred equity, senior equity and joint venture equity. Matos joins from Safehold, where he served as SVP. Milde comes to Criterion from multifamily investment and development firm Richbell Equities. Prior to that, Milde served as a MD and head of commercial mortgage originations at both Citigroup and Allegiant Real Estate Capital. Milde also was a senior MD at Bear Stearns.
Aksia – Michael Brand has joined the firm’s real assets team as managing director. Brand will oversee real assets investment programmes, with a focus on portfolio design and implementation. Before joining Aksia in 2024, Brand served as the global head of real assets at Mercer Investments. Prior to Mercer, Brand was managing director in the real assets investment group at Cambridge Associates for over nine years, focused on investment due diligence and portfolio management across all real asset sectors. He also served as chair of the firm’s real assets investment committee and was a voting member of several other committees. Brand previously held investment roles at Franklin Park, Halcyon Asset Management, Moody’s, and Reuters Loan Pricing Corporation.
Aboria Capital – Rob Tyson has joined the firm as CFO from MARK Capital Management. Tyson, who spent 15 years at MARK, began his career at Deloitte, before joining JER Partners in 2002, where he spent six years. Will Lucas has also joined as investment manager. Lucas began his career at PwC spending five years in its real estate assurance and transactions services departments. He joined MARK in 2017, where he gained broad experience across the finance and portfolio management teams. Nick Cochrane has been appointed senior associate. Cochrane, who was previously at DWS, where he was a member of the UK and Ireland Real Estate team and gained broad experience across both asset management and transactions.
365 Data Centers – Derek Gillespie has been appointed chief revenue officer. Prior to joining 365 Data Centers, Gillespie was the chief sales officer at Zayo. Prior to that, he served as the CRO at Cosentry. Before joining Cosentry, he spent 11 years at Savvis, serving in various leadership functions of the business, transforming the sales organisation into one of the leading providers of colocation, managing hosting and cloud services in the US, Europe and Asia. Eric Thelen has joined the company as SVP of sales and customer success. With over 20 years of experience driving sales strategy and growth in the technology space. Thelen brings deep expertise in leveraging transformational technologies to drive business value.
Coastal Ridge – Peter Kelly has joined the US real estate firm as director of investor relations, based in Cincinnati. Prior to joining Coastal Ridge, Kelly was director of fundraising at private equity firm Viking Partners. Kelly will play an integral role in advancing the evolution of Coastal Ridge’s capital formation for new investment strategies.
