Delancey – The UK-focused real estate investment and development advisor has appointed Martin Farinola as its head of real estate debt strategies. Farinola will lead Delancey’s real estate debt strategies across its portfolio with a view to broadening and growing the business. Farinola joins Delancey from Brookfield, where he ran the European real estate debt business. Farinola has held previous senior investment and debt positions at GAM, formerly Renshaw Bay’s debt business, Goldman Sachs International and BlackRock.

Schroders Capital – The investment manager’s real estate team is expanding its investor coverage in Europe with the appointment of Stephen Miles as head of strategic capital partnerships for Europe. In this newly-created role, Miles will have responsibility for developing Schroders Capital’s strategic relationships with existing and new real estate clients across Europe. Miles will advise clients on potential investment solutions covering the full suite of global real estate capabilities and products that Schroders Capital’s real estate platform offers. Miles, who will be based in London, has spent the last nine years at CBRE where he was most recently an executive director in the EMEA Capital Markets team. Prior to CBRE, he held a similar role at JLL, having joined the firm in Paris before moving to London and working in its equity raising team. 

MetLife Investment ManagementDavid Politano has been named head of real estate debt. He is a 27-year veteran of MetLife Investment Management and MetLife, most recently leading the international platform, Northeast region and real estate capital markets group within the firm’s real estate team. He replaces Gary Otten, who retired from the firm. In addition to his new role, Politano will maintain responsibility for the international platform, Northeast region and real estate capital markets group while a successor is determined. 

CBRE Investment ManagementMadeleine Cosgrave and Laure Duhot have abben appointed independent members to the EMEA direct real estate investment committee and the UK direct real estate investment committee, respectively. Cosgrave was MD and regional head of Europe at GIC Real Estate from 2016 to 2021. She is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and former chair of the INREV investor platform. In addition, Cosgrave is an acting non-executive director for Landsec and has sat on a number of GIC Real Estate boards across Europe. Duhot was MD at Lendlease, Grainger, Pradera and Sunrise Senior Living and a founding partner of MCP (now M3CP). Duhot also has 12 years’ prior experience in private equity, investment banking, fixed income and corporate lending. Duhot is also an acting non-executive director to several businesses including an LSE-listed debt fund, a healthcare and another specialist property REIT, both part of the FTSE250 index. Francesco Terra has been appointed retail consumer intelligence lead EMEA. Terra will be responsible for delivering consistent and efficient customer and competition intelligence across CBRE IM’s retail platform, whilst supporting the delivery of the company’s retail assets strategies. Terra will work closely with the heads of retail asset management and their teams. In 2017, Terra co-founded UrbiStat International, a specialised market research agency that supports investment and property managers in the decision-making process, leveraging data collected with consumers. Prior to this, Terra was competitive intelligence and services manager, EMEA, at Sonae Sierra.

VICI Properties – The real estate investment trust has appointed Kellan Florio senior VP CIO and Moira McCloskey, capital markets VP. Florio will be responsible for leading VICI’s expansion across experiential real estate investments with operators. Florio joins from Goldman Sachs where he spent the last 15 years in the real estate investment banking group advising public and private companies. Kellan’s experience at Goldman Sachs spanned the real estate, gaming and lodging spectrum, and he most recently served as global head of lodging and leisure investment banking. McCloskey will be responsible for leading VICI’s capital markets initiatives and continuing to expand VICI’s relationships and access to capital across domestic and international debt and equity markets.

HammersonSarah Tinsley has joined the company in the new role as director of marketing and placemaking, to support its commitment to shaping and creating vibrant urban spaces where people and brands want to be. Tinsley will lead Hammerson’s direct customer marketing, brand experience, digital, activations, partnerships, brand feedback and customer feedback teams. Tinsley joins Hammerson from Quintain, where she spent two years scaling the company’s consumer residential brand. Prior to this, she worked for seven years at Whitbread Restaurants. Prior to this, Tinsley spent over six years at Red Bull, including as head of entertainment marketing.

LondonMetric PropertyAlistair Elliott has been appointed independent non-executive director of the company with immediate effect. Elliott was most recently senior partner and chair of the Knight Frank executive board. He has also previously been vice-chair and a trustee of LandAid, a member of the BPF Policy Committee and the real estate representative of the Professional and Business Services Council, chairman of the Office Agents Society and chair of the Property Advisors Forum. He is currently a member of the Prince’s Council and chairman of The Commercial Property and Development Committee for the Duchy of Cornwall. He is also a non-executive director to the board of Grosvenor Great Britain and Ireland.

Arrow Capital PartnersTim Hamacher has joined the firm as development manager to support recent growth in the logistics development side of the business. He will be responsible for logistics development due diligence and overseeing Arrow’s project managers across Germany. He joins from Frasers Property Industrial, where he spent four years as a logistics project manager. Jerome Fröhlich joins as an investment analyst to support the broader acquisitions team on all aspects of the transaction process including research and due diligence. Previously, he was a senior valuation and transaction advisory consultant at JLL, based in Germany.

Upflex – The global provider of hybrid workspace solutions has appointed Isobel McKenna as EMEA SVP workspace solutions to lead the firm’s London-based EMEA HQ and appointed Freddie Case EMEA VP workplace solutions. McKenna has joins Upflex from CBRE, where she was head EMEA of workspace solutions, prior to serving as enterprise accounts VP at IWG. Prior to joining Upflex Case was director of enterprise at Kontor, before which he worked at WeWork and Flexioffices. 

Gerald Eve – The real estate advisory firm has appointed John Howells as energy and infrastructure partner in its industrial and logistics team. Howells joins from Cushman & Wakefield where he was head of energy and infrastructure. Prior to this, he ran his own consulting business as well as working client-side for an energy company.

Addleshaw Goddard – The law firm has appointed Simon Pollock as a partner within its Investment Management Group (IMG), building on the firm’s offer as an advisor on corporate real estate transactions. Pollock, who specialises in real estate M&A and joint-ventures, previously worked for Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner and will join Addleshaw Goddard in July. His practice has focused on buying and selling corporate vehicles (onshore and offshore), often through complex structures, and establishing joint-ventures and management arrangements between real estate fund platforms and investors.
