Patrizia – The real assets manager has hired Jérôme Delaunay as its new head of asset management for South-West Europe (France, Iberia and Italy). Delaunay joins Patrizia in June from AXA IM Alts where he worked for 12 years. Delaunay’s most recent roles at AXA IM Alts included country team head for Benelux, asset management country team head of France and head of asset management France. He also held senior positions at Société Générale Asset Management and Goldman Sachs. He will be based at Patrizia’s Paris office and report to Amal Del Monaco, head of European asset management and countries. 

MetLife Investment ManagementChris Aiken has joined as head of acquisitions within the real estate equity strategies group. Aiken was most recently at Safanad as a managing director. Before that, he was at BlackRock in increasing levels of responsibility, focused on real estate acquisitions, including development, value-add, and core strategies. He began his career as an analyst in the investment banking division at Salomon Smith Barney.

Europa Capital – The pan-European real estate investment manager has appointed Timothy Wagstaff portfolio and asset management senior associate. Wagstaff will initially be responsible for the delivery, monitoring and analysis of investment level asset management plans across its value add funds, as well as helping to inform strategic decision-making. Wagstaff, who will be based in London, will report to the head of asset management, Simon Hooper. Wagstaff joins from specialist retail property management business Edgerley Simpson Howe, which he joined in August 2012. During his time at Edgerley Simpson Howe, Wagstaff progressed from management surveyor, investment surveyor to associate partner. 

BNP Paribas Real EstateHapri Yorke-Brooks has been appointed senior associate director within the manager’s investment team based in Birmingham, UK. Yorke-Brooks was previously at Savills in Birmingham from 2000 to 2008 where she held the role of head of investment.

StepStone Real EstateMargaret McKnight has been appointed head of portfolio solutions and Sara Rutledge has been appointed managing director and head of market research. McKnight, who joined the company as a partner in 2020, will focus on designing portfolios to meet the risk and return objectives of the firm’s discretionary funds, separate accounts and advisory clients. Rutledge, whose prior experience includes serving as director of market research for the National Counsel of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries, joined StepStone Real Estate as managing director in April. 

Savills Investment Management – The international real estate investment manager has hired Claire George as chief technology and operations officer. Based in London, George will assume leadership of all activities across the business in the areas of technology and operations and will sit on the firm’s executive committee. George most recently held senior roles with Goldacre and Cromwell Group. Prior to this, she worked at Abrdn in senior roles for over fifteen years, most recently as global head of investment platform real estate. She is also an active participant at industry bodies such as INREV, where she is a member of the European industry technology committee.

Heimstaden Anette Konar Riple has been appointed as the new head of social sustainability for the European residential real estate firm - a newly-created role. She is currently programme manager for A Home for a Home, Heimstaden’s joint venture with international development organisation SOS Children’s Village. Konar Riple would continue in this current role when she becomes head of social sustainability on 1 June. In the new job, she will be in charge of ensuring the firm reaches its social sustainability targets, and coordinating its initiatives around Europe. She will report to Heimstaden’s chief sustainability officer Katarina Skalare.

Bouwinvest Real Estate InvestorsMark Siezen is to replace Dick van Hal as CEO after 14 years at the Dutch real estate investment manager. Siezen, who joined Bouwinvest in November 2022 as chief client officer, will assume the top job in September. Siezen has more than 25 years of experience and, before joining Bouwinvest, he was executive director and member of the board at CBRE Nederland and previously held various executive positions at Multi and COFRA Holding, among others.

IPUT Real Estate – The property company has appointed Marie Hunt to the newly created role of head of research and as a member of the IPUT senior management team. Hunt will join IPUT in the autumn and will be responsible for IPUT’s thought leadership strategy, supporting the business’ investment process, placemaking strategy and sustainability programme. She is currently the head of research and consulting at CBRE in Ireland, a function she established in 1995 and is a member of CBRE Ireland’s executive committee.

Henley Investments – The London-based global real estate private equity firm has appointed Monica Popescu as investment director to focus on origination and execution of investment opportunities across continental Europe. Popescu joins Henley from Colliers in Germany, where she led major transactions across all asset classes, latterly as head of portfolio investment and advisory.

ARA Private FundsDavid Blight has been appointed to the role of chief investment officer of the private funds division of ARA Asset Management. In his new role, Blight will work in partnership with CEO Moses Song. Blight has been CEO of ARA Australia since co-founding it in 2015.  Previous to that, he was chairman and CEO of the global ING Real Estate Investment Management platform.

CBRE Investment Management – Elina Betman has joined the investment management firm as senior director in the client solutions team. Based in Montreal and Toronto, she will be responsible for advising Canadian investors on building investment solutions across the firm’s real assets investment categories and geographies, including private direct real estate, private indirect real estate, credit, listed strategies and private infrastructure. Betman joins from TD Asset Management, where she served as VP for alternative investments. Prior to that, she was with Towers Watson.

Seddons – The law firm has promoted Rob Brooks in the real estate finance team and Nick Mann in the residential real estate team to partners. Commercial real estate partner Christian Taylor has re-joined Seddons, after eight years having previously been at JMW. Brooks joined Seddons in 2016 as an assistant solicitor, after practising at Brecher solicitors and qualifying at Mundays. Mann joined Seddons in 2013 as an assistant solicitor, having previously practised and worked at regional firms and Withers.

ESR CaymanWei-Lin Kwee has been appointed independent non-executive director to the company’s board of directors. She will also be appointed as a member of the remuneration committee of the company. She is the head of hotels of Pontiac Land Group. Kwee is the president of the Singapore Hotel Association. She has been appointed as a member of the Singapore government’s future economy council since April 2021 and serves as a member of its lifestyle committee.

UKAA – The UK apartment association has appointed Brendan Geraghty as its new CEO. Geraghty has already been associated with the UKAA for some time, having managed the content for the recently launched best practice guide. Now, he will lead the organisation as it moves to shape the future of build-to-rent in the UK. 

Green Rock Energy Partners – The sustainable infrastructure-focused private equity firm has appointed Christine Gabbianelli as principal, head of investor relations. Gabbianelli will focus on enhancing and institutionalizing Green Rock’s investor relations capabilities, fundraising efforts, and strategic initiatives. Gabbianelli joins Green Rock from Fairview Capital Group where she was a founding member and principal of investor relations. Prior to Fairview Capital, Gabbianelli worked in fund management at The Carlyle Group, where she focused on fundraising initiatives across several strategies, including Carlyle’s Europe buyout fund and international energy fund. Previously, Gabbianelli held various positions at Blackstone, including head of financial planning and analysis for Blackstone’s credit business. She began her career in the industrial products industry as an analyst in General Electric’s financial management programme.

ULI – The Urban Land Institute’s Randall Lewis Center for sustainability in real estate has appointed Jenny Zhang as the ESG and decarbonisation director – Asia Pacific. She was most recently a founding member of Carbonbase. Prior to Zhang’s venture at Carbonbase, she advised on international M&A transactions at Deloitte.

Peakside Capital Advisors –  Maximilian Baumann has been promoted to principal in the transaction team. He had started his career in 2017 as an investment analyst at Peakside. The European investment manager has also appointed Markus Maier and Leon Bomhard associates. Maier started as an investment analyst at Peakside in 2020. Bomhard joined Peakside as an intern in 2019.

Argyll – London’s premium office provider has appointed Philip Symonds as investment director. Symonds joins from Addington Capital where he spent almost 10 years. Prior to Addington Capital, Symonds worked at Anglo Irish Bank within real estate banking and qualified as a chartered surveyor at Cushman & Wakefield before that. Symonds will be focusing on expanding the business’ position within the prime London flex space market.
