CBRE Investment Management – Tania Tsoneva has joined the firm as senior director - global infrastructure research. In this role, Tsoneva will be responsible for leading the platform’s infrastructure research efforts globally, supporting the firm’s private and public infrastructure teams and the wider multi-asset solutions effort. Tsoneva joins CBRE IM from S&P Global Ratings. There, she was most recently a director and lead analyst within the infrastructure ratings team with responsibility for some of the largest issuers globally within the toll road, airport and rail sectors.
Savills Investment Management – The international real estate investment manager has appointed Nicholas Kinsey to the new role of head of APAC logistics. He joins from DHL Supply Chain where he was formerly sub-regional head, APAC. Previous roles include positions with CEVA Logistics and Goodman Group. Toh Shaowei has been appointed head of APAC research and strategy. He is based in the Singapore office. He joined from UBS, where he held the role of executive director, head of real estate strategy, Asia Pacific since 2015. Previous roles include working for Singaporean property groups CapitaLand and UOL, as well as United Overseas Bank.
Nuveen – Charlotte Daelemans has joined the global asset manager’s UK sales team as managing director and hired Liora Walter as director and Marco Stadler as an associate. Prior to joining Nuveen, Daelemans was an institutional director at AMP Capital, where she spent five years specialising in fundraising. Between 2011 and 2016, Daelemans worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, most recently as an executive director in the institutional and wholesale distribution team and held a number of roles across the sales function at Bloomberg prior to that. Walter previously worked at AIF Capital in institutional sales and business development. Further stations were Edmond de Rothschild REIM and M3 Capital Partners. Stadler comes from DIC Asset, where he supported institutional investors in the real estate and infrastructure segments. Prior to that, he worked in institutional sales at Metzler Asset Management for several years. Walter and Stadler started at the Frankfurt office on 1 September and will cover the DACH region.
QIC – Kylie Rampa has been appointed CEO of Queensland Government-owned Australian investment manager. She will commence in April 2022, taking the helm from Damien Frawley, who has led the organisation for almost a decade and will retire in 2022. Rampa is currently Lendlease’s group head of investments, and a member of the Lendlease global leadership team and global investment committee. Prior to joining Lendlease in 2013, she spent 13 years at Macquarie, and at various stages in her career worked at AMP and Schroders.
Barings – José Carlos Torres has been appointed head of real estate, Iberia. Based in Madrid, Torres will lead Barings’ real estate investment activity in the Iberian region and will work closely with both Gunther Deutsch, who leads European transactions, as well as with Charles Weeks, Barings’ head of real estate for Europe and APAC. Torres brings more than 16 years of experience in the sector and joins from Hines, where he had been an investment director for the past three years. Prior to this, he gained experience at Redevco, Zaphir Asset Management and Aguirre Newman.
Toorak Capital Partners – The capital providers to the residential real estate lending industry has appointed C Lamar Myers as principal and head of multifamily business development. Prior to joining Toorak, Myers spent five years as a production manager at Freddie Mac overseeing the northeast region’s production and sales small balance loans programme. He spent two years as a director at NYC’s Department of Housing Preservation & Development. Earlier in his career, Myers served as VP within the structured lending and investing group at Citigroup and was a manager at Alvarez & Marsal, where he worked on the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy.
CMS – The international law firm has bolstered its real estate and construction practice with the addition of a team of 10 lawyers in Poland. CMS will be joined by three partners: Agata Jurek-Zbrojska, Małgorzata Madej-Balcerowska, and Dominik Rafałko. Jurek-Zbrojska will head CMS’s real estate and construction practice in Poland, which she will manage in close co-operation with partners Lidia Dziurzyńska-Leipert – who leads international development for CEE Real Estate, Michał Mieciński, Małgorzata Madej-Balcerowska, and Dominik Rafałko. Along with the new partners, Anna Wiśniewska has joined as counsel, Zuzanna Bafia, as senior associate, as well as associates Michał Gruza, Aleksander Kłys, Magdalena Piotrowska-Gwiazdowska, Marta Trębacka and Joanna Ostapiuk.
Clarion Partners – The real estate investment manager has appointed Karen Mahrous as senior VP and head of ESG. Mahrous is based in Clarion’s New York City office and reports to Jeb Belford in his new capacity as CIO. Mahrous joins Clarion from CodeGreen Solutions, an energy and sustainability consultancy firm specialising in the real estate industry.
Cromwell Property – Brett Hinton has been appointed to a newly-created role of head of funds management – Australia. He will be responsible for growing the existing Cromwell funds management business, including creating new wholesale funds and opportunities for institutional investors and other capital partners in Australia. Before his appointment, Hinton had been the group’s head of treasury for the past five years and until recently was acting chief financial officer, a position he held from January this year.
QIC Global Real Estate – Nicholas Skulander has been appointed general manager of healthcare. He joins from Dexus, where he was on Dexus development origination team. At QIC Skulander will focus on expanding QIC global real estate’s capability in healthcare real estate.
BHI – The bank commercial bank has appointed Michael Wadler as first VP, commercial real estate. Wadler, a veteran banker whose career spans more than three decades, will be based in BHI’s Florida representative office. Wadler joins BHI from HSBC Bank USA, where he served 16 years, most recently as VP in the commercial real estate finance group. Previously, he was a VP in the commercial real estate group of Comerica Bank. He also held the position of executive director and head of real estate loan syndications at CIBC World Markets.
Elion Partners – The private equity real estate investment firm has promoted Kaylee McCall Correa to the role of managing director of capital markets. Currently, McCall leads the firm’s investor relations and communications programmes. As managing director, she will assist with the firm’s strategic growth initiatives, further drive its commitment to ESG and DEI through her appointment to the firm’s ESG/DEI steering committee, and build meaningful, long-term relationships with institutional capital partners as a member of its Capital Markets team. McCall participates in the firm’s investment committee and serves as a member of its asset management committee. She joined Elion in 2013.
Dolphin Square Charitable Foundation – The parent entity of the Dolphin Living group has elected Andrew Giblin as chair and Jo Moran to the board. Prior to being elected as chair, Giblin served for over four years as governor and latterly vice-chair of Dolphin. Before taking on the role of chair of the board, he also chaired the charity’s acquisition, finance and development committee. Giblin steps into the role with over 16 years’ experience at Dorrington where his forthcoming appointment to MD was recently announced, having been on the board for ten years. Moran joins the board with over 30 years’ experience in the retail industry and was most recently head of customer service at Marks & Spencer, a position she held for 12 years. Prior to this, she was head of retail service and head of franchise sales development.
