Europa Capital – The pan-European real estate investment manager has appointed Diederik Bakker as asset management MD. Bakker will be responsible for the asset management of Europa Diversified Income Fund, Europa Capital’s open-ended core fund. He also brings a wealth of experience working in the Dutch real estate market and will manage a growing number of assets in the country as part of Europa Capital’s value add fund series. Most recently, Diederik was a senior director, asset and transaction management, for Multi Corporation.
TA Realty – The real estate investment management services provider has appointed Anne Peck as vice president and head of environment, social, governance and resiliency efforts. Peck will lead the development of the firm’s measurable annual ESG+R goals and drive implementation of their corresponding roadmap on the corporate level to ensure integration of ESG+R throughout the company as well as across the assets it manages. Peck joins from AEW Capital Management where she served most recently as vice president, head of architecture and engineering. Previously, Peck held positions at Cambridge Housing Authority, Jones Lang Lasalle, and Bovis Lend Lease.
Barings – Ben Pile has been appointed head of residential investing and asset management – Europe. Pile will be responsible for sourcing residential-led deals for Barings’ seven local European transactions teams, as well as structuring and overseeing potential JVs with developers across Europe and developing models to underwrite new deals and monitor investment due diligence. He joins from Apache Capital Partners in London where he was investment director and led its social infrastructure investment platform. He also previously worked for ING Real Estate Investment Management in commercial real estate and, prior to that, in investment banking with Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.
Abrdn – Tom Stenhouse has joined as the asset mamager as head of real estate strategic capital from Patrizia. Stenhouse will focus on developing bespoke mandates for key institutional clients. Stenhouse will also take on management of existing segregated mandates for some of the firm’s existing larger Asian clients. Satyan Sanghrajka joins as head of APAC real estate business strategy and investment specialists. Sanghrajka will be based in Singapore and joins from UBS with a dual remit to deliver growth in the firm’s Asia Pacific real estate business, along with accelerating the flow of Asia Pacific capital into the company’s UK and European capabilities. Andrea Goss has also joined the investment specialist team from Eastdil Secured. Goss is an investment director and will be working with Abrdn’s global client base across a broad range of strategies, both existing and new.
Foresight – Ross Driver has joined the sustainable real assets division of Foresight. Based in London, Driver will focus on supporting Foresight Solar Fund Limited as part of its senior management team and delivering the investment objective of the company. Prior to joining Foresight, Driver worked in the infrastructure teams at InfraRed Capital Partners, John Laing and KPMG.
Trimont Global Real Estate Advisors – Bill Sexton has been named global CEO. Sexton has been with Trimont since 2018 as president and head of Trimont’s operations in Europe. He has been a member of Trimont’s global management committee since 2018 and is on the board of advisors to CREFC in Europe. Sexton takes over from Brian Ward, who has led the company since 2016, and who will now assume the role of senior advisor to Trimont for the next several months to assist with the transition.
Stafford Capital Partners – The specialist real assets and private markets manager has appointed Brett Himbury as chairman. Himbury’s appointment as is effective 1 January 2022 following the retirement of Stafford’s current chairman and co-founder Geoff Norman. Norman will continue to serve as a non-executive director of the company, investment committee member. Himbury takes up this position having previously served as a senior advisor to Stafford. Brett spent more than a decade with IFM Investors, where he served as CEO until his retirement in December last year.
Building Values – Norbert Bol is the newly created real estate and infrastructure consultancy firm’s founding principal. Building Values, a real estate and infrastructure consultancy firm that helps building social, ecological and economical values. Prior to his current role, Bol served as CIO of Sweco Capital Consultants for 17 years. He has been a committee member at Stichting Waarborgfonds en Kenniscentrum Kinderopvang since 2006.
CapMan Real Estate – Thomas Laakso has been appointed investment director to support the international growth of its hotel fund. Laakso worked at Marriott International since 2010, most recently as VP, international hotel development. Prior to that, he held a senior position within the hotel consulting and valuation practice of HVS in London.
PGIM Real Estate – Matthew Yao has been appointed head of China to oversee the Shanghai-based investment team that currently supports deployment of PGIM Real Estate’s pan-Asian investment funds in China. His focus in particular will be on growing PGIM Real Estate’s pool of investment opportunities through joint venture partnerships and strengthened domestic capital relationships, and developing future investment vehicles in China. Yao joins from CBRE Investment Management where he headed its China business.
Madison International Realty – The real estate private equity firm has appointed Steffen Meinshausen as head of its German investments team. Prior to joining Madison, Meinshausen served as director of investments at 777 Capital Partners, and previously was a VP at Corestate Capital Group. He has also held roles at Cerberus and Lazard based across the European continent.
Vistry Group – The FTSE 250-listed housebuilder has appointed Danica McLean to the newly created role of group people director to drive forward the company’s people strategy. In the role, McLean will lead the human resources, resourcing, payroll and benefits and learning and development teams. McLean joined Bovis Homes – now part of Vistry – almost nine years ago as senior HR officer.
