CBRE - Amanda Stevenson has been appointed head of investor strategy for ESG consultancy. In her new role, Stevenson will be responsible for leading and managing the UK Investor Strategy ESG team, focusing on delivering sustainability initiatives for CBRE’s extensive funds and investor clients. In addition, she will be advising clients on climate transition plans, identifying, managing and reporting climate risks, and compiling disclosures with TCFD and SFDR. As founder and former director of Adapt Sustainability Consulting, Stevenson was responsible for developing a holistic ESG strategy service offering that focused on identifying ESG initiatives that would improve performance, minimise risk and support a client’s business strategy. Stevenson also served as the head of sustainability at Capital & Countries Properties.
Church Commissioners for England - Jennifer Longstaff has been appointed as strategic land and affordable housing asset manager. The role will see Longstaff advise across the Church Commissioners’ property development portfolio, expanding the 9,000 affordable home pipeline by identifying suitable new sites for rural affordable housing. Longstaff has over 15 years’ experience working for Savills undertaking project development and securing planning permissions to support new developments, including rural housing.
Tiger Infrastructure Partners – Andrew Harris has been appointed managing director, head of investor relations and ESG. Harris joins Tiger from North Sky Capital, where he led business development for impact private equity and sustainable infrastructure strategies.
WeWork – Daniel Hurwitz, co-founder and CEO of Raider Hill Advisors, has joined global flexible space provider’s board of directors. He succeeds Jeffrey Sine, co-founder and partner of The Raine Group, who served on WeWork’s board since October 2019. Before co-founding Raider Hill Advisors, Hurwitz spent 16 years at SITE Centers serving in various executive roles, including CEO from 2010-2015. Hurwitz also served as interim CEO of Brixmor Property Group from February 2016 through May 2016. Hurwitz, who will serve as chair of WeWork’s audit committee, is currently a member of the board of directors of Brixmor Property Group and Ideal Dental, and is an advisor to the board of directors of Edens and ShopCore Properties. Previously, Hurwitz served as the chairman of ICSC from 2019-2020, and was a member of the board of directors of General Growth Properties from 2013 to 2018, serving as lead director and chair of the special committee.
EIG – The global energy and infrastructure investor has appointed De la Rey Venter MD of EIG and CEO of MidOcean Energy, the EIG-controlled LNG company. He will be based in EIG’s London office. Venter is a 25-year industry veteran with global operating, dealmaking and business leadership experience in the mining, upstream and LNG sectors. His previous roles include serving as executive VP of Integrated Gas Ventures and previously also as Shell’s global head of LNG. Venter first joined Shell in 2002.
Castleforge – The private equity real estate manager has promoted Adam MacLeod and Julian Feldman to the role of partner. MacLeod joined Castleforge in 2015 as the firm’s head of investment strategy and research, before being promoted to MD in 2020. Prior to joining Castleforge, he worked in the US and UK with law firms Sullivan & Cromwell and Cravath, Swaine & Moore. He will continue to manage investment operations of Castleforge’s business, including in-house portfolio companies, and the development and management of research and investment strategy processes. Feldman joined Castleforge in 2014 as the firm’s general counsel, before being promoted to MD in 2020. Prior to joining Castleforge, he worked in the UK with law firm Allen & Overy. He will maintain his role as general counsel and manage risk and compliance functions across the business.
IPF - Graeme Rutter, executive director and head of investment advisory within CBRE Capital Advisors, has been announced as national chair of the Investment Property Forum for 12 months. Rutter has chaired the IPF indirect property working group for a number of years and is currently a member of CBRE’s Capital Advisors investment committee, investment advisory strategy board and investment advisory investment committee, as well as the MSCI UK real estate advisory group.
Nuveen Natural Capital - Richard Haight has joined Nuveen Natural Capital as head of global timberland transactions. In his new role, Haight will be a member of the leadership team and will focus on pipeline development, transactions and capital deployment. Haight served as head of TTG Forestry Services and US operations for BTG Pactual’s Timberland Investment Group. In 2015 Haight spent 6 years as COO for Brookfield’s timber funds, Brazil. Haight based in Atlanta, Georgia, reports directly to Chris Lipton head of timberland investments for Nuveen Natural Capital.
Ethical Property - Mark Hannam has been appointed new chair of the UK workspace provider. Hannam will support the managing director, Conrad Peberdy, in setting a direction for the business enabling Ethical Property to meet its objectives and priorities over the coming months and years. Previously, Hannam was deputy chair of the board at the University of East London for eight years, and chair of Fair Finance for eight years. He is currently a non-executive director at Gateway Housing Association.
Yugo - Joe Goodwin has been appointed senior vice president of operations of the global student housing brand and operator. He will lead Yugo’s US operations, focusing on operational performance and brand promise. Recently serving as SVP of strategic analytics and research with Asset Living in Houston, Goodwin has over 18 years of experience in student, multi-family and affordable housing sectors, primarily in operations and asset management roles.
Legal and General - The UK insurer’s modular homes division has appointed Terry Fuller as head of partnerships and appointed Alex Fenner and Jon Sanders partnership managers for the South East UK. Fuller will work with public and private partners in delivering new homes, from regeneration to new developments. Previously, Fuller led land acquisitions, strategic land, and the southeast regional teams at Homes England for a number of years. New land and partnerships manager Fenner has spent eight years within land acquisition and development; seven of those were spent working up the ranks at Peabody Housing association. Sanders, brings nearly a decade of experience as a surveyor, having worked in the utilities and telecoms sectors prior to entering the housebuilding industry.
Nature Energy - The biogas producer has appointed Alexis Glick as CEO of its North America business. Glick has nearly three decades of experience in business building and leading major financial, media and philanthropic businesses. Previously, she served as CEO of Genyouth. Prior to Genyouth, Glick helped launch, build and lead Fox Business, and was the first woman to run a bulge bracket investment banking business during her tenure at Morgan Stanley.
LEM capital - The private equity firm focused on equity investments in class B value-add multifamily properties has promoted Greg Biester and Jennifer Clausen to partner.
