Madison International Realty has launched a strategy created to provide liquidity and growth capital to real estate investment management platforms.
The US firm has already invested $1.5bn (€1.4bn) of equity via 14 investments in several existing real estate funds.
Madison said it had “secured a sizable anchor investment” for strategy and will seek to raise additional equity.
The strategy is to provide a broad range of liquidity options for established and middle-market real estate investment managers.
The launch comes 18 months after Kenny Moon joined the company as a managing director. Moon previously spent 14 years at Almanac Realty Investors where he participated in its real estate private equity oriented investing.
Madison already provides liquidity solutions to existing real estate investors globally in prime properties and portfolios in select sectors and major markets in the US, UK and Western Europe.
Founder and president Ronald Dickerman said: “Madison has been focused on differentiated investment strategies in these uncertain economic times.
“With many established players moving on to large scale transactions, we believe that there is tremendous opportunity to invest in established, middle-market real estate investment managers, sponsors with demonstrated track records which seek efficient methods to raise equity capital.”
