Lighthouse Infrastructure Management has raised an initial secured A$300m (€202m) for its latest Australian disability housing investment fund.

With leverage, Australian Disability Accommodation Projects Trust 2 (ADAPT2), which was backed by Australian super funds and insurers, would have a A$500m investment firepower.

Lighthouse Infrastructure’s Australian Disability Accommodation Projects Trust 1 holds a A$250m portfolio.

Peter Johnston, managing director of Lighthouse Infrastructure, told IPE Real Assets: “Once we have invested a substantial amount of the first close we will look to expand the fund.”

Johnston expects to deploy the capital raised over a two-year period on a diversified portfolio, but with a higher weighting to the densely populated states of NSW and Victoria.

“We have constructed all the assets that we own today from scratch. And if the price is right, we will also acquire completed developments and tenanted assets.”

Lighthouse Infrastructure specialises in the Australian renewable energy and social infrastructure sectors.
