Lighthouse Infrastructure Management has launched a solar fund.
The Australian company said it would look to raise AUD$100m (€67.2m) for its Lighthouse Solar Fund, with capital raised over two offer periods.
The fund will invest in solar photovoltaic systems, as well as contracts with utility, government, commercial and industrial, and residential customers.
Lighthouse founder and managing director Mitch King said the emerging, AUD$2bn solar industry shared similarities with the early years of Australia’s infrastructure investment.
“Investors in the fund are expected to earn commercial returns on offer in the solar market and benefit from the future growth of the industry and subsequent portfolio re-rating as the market matures,” he said.
He said Lighthouse had identified a pipeline of opportunities in Australia.
“Investors will, in addition to earning commercial returns, powerfully apply their capital to achieve long-term environmental and social benefits, accelerating Australia’s transition towards a lower-carbon society,” King said.
