Indiana Public Retirement System (PRS) is investing $50m (€47.3m) alongside Macquarie Asset Management’s latest Americas-focused infrastructure fund.

The pension fund said it has approved the co-investment commitment to Macquarie Infrastructure Partners VI.

Indiana PRS told IPE Real Assets that the investment follows a $150m commitment the pension fund approved to invest directly into the fund.

As previously reported, Macquarie is seeking to raise between $7bn to $8bn for the infrastructure fund. The manager raised $6.9bn for the previous fund in the series which closed in July 2021.

The fund series seeks to invest in high-quality infrastructure assets and will be primarily focused on the transportation, communications, waste management, utilities and energy sectors.
