Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) has partnered with Endowus, an independent wealth adviser and investment platform in Asia, to introduce private infrastructure investment to investors in Singapore and Hong Kong.
The partnership marks MAM’s first collaboration with a digital wealth management platform in Asia, offering Endowus clients access to a diversified portfolio of privately-held infrastructure assets, traditionally reserved for institutions and other large investors.
MAM manages a portfolio worth over US$200bn (€172bn), comprising 150 infrastructure assets that support the daily needs of more than 300 million people worldwide.
The partners said private infrastructure had emerged as one of the fastest-growing segments in private markets, with assets under management reaching US$1.3trn in 2024 – more than four times bigger than a decade ago.
Christopher Frost, senior managing director at Macquarie Asset Management and executive investment committee member of Macquarie Infrastructure Strategy, said: “At Macquarie, infrastructure is in our DNA. Through this partnership, eligible investors in both markets gain access to our global platform. Over the past 30 years, we’ve invested in more than 300 infrastructure businesses, building a strong track record of delivering results for our investors.
“As an asset class, private infrastructure had demonstrated a high degree of resilience, lower volatility and acted as an inflation hedge. Its performance has low correlation to traditional markets, offering diversification benefits for investors. These largely stem from the essential nature of infrastructure assets, which provide critical services regardless of market cycles.”
Samuel Rhee, chairman and group chief investment officer of Endowus, said: “Private infrastructure offers benefits such as diversification, a hedge against inflation. As an asset class, it is highly complementary to Endowus’s current suite of alternative offerings.”
Endowus has expanded its private markets offering to complement its existing suite of hedge funds, private credit, private equity, and private real estate strategies.
