Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) has issued a request for proposal to appoint open-end infrastructure managers, with plans to allocate at least $200m (€169.1m) through the search.

The $61bn pension fund expects to commit the capital to infrastructure through core or core-plus strategies, focusing on either domestic or global investment strategies.

The search, being conducted by the pension fund’s investment consultant, Callan, is expected to lead to the hiring of one or more managers.

A final decision is expected to be made at IMRF’s board meeting in late May.
