Gunnar Branson is to take over from Jim Fetgatter as CEO of the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE) in the US.

Branson, currently CEO of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM), will replace Fetgatter, who is retiring after 26 years at AFIRE.

Last month, Fetgatter won the Outstanding Industry Contribution award at the IPE Real Estate Global Conference & Awards 2018 in Milan after 40 years in the industry.

AFIRE was founded in 1988 with support from Dutch pension funds and Japanese institutions to represent the interests of foreign institutions investing in US real estate markets.
