Paul Clark, the former CIO of The Crown Estate, has joined AustralianSuper to lead the superannuation fund’s real estate investment activities in the UK and Europe.
The A$188bn (€114bn) AustralianSuper said it has appointed Clark as senior property investment director in London as part of new appointments by the fund as it ”positions itself to identify new international opportunities” to generate the best possible long-term returns for members.
Clark stepped down in February down after over 12 years with The Crown Estate. During his tenure at The Crown Estate, he led the team that concluded a number of partnerships including with Norway’s Norges Bank Investment Management on Regent Street and Oxford Properties at St James’s Market.
The industry super fund has also appointed Philippe Lenoble to joined the London team as senior infrastructure investment director responsible for infrastructure investment activities in the UK and Europe.
Lenoble was formerly managing director of Goldman Sachs’ infrastructure investment group and senior managing director with the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec’s infrastructure group.
AustralianSuper said Mikaël Limpalaër has also joined the London investment team as an investment director focused on real estate and infrastructure debt. Limpalaër joins AustralianSuper from Aeriance where he held the role of director, real estate lending. Prior to this, he held senior positions at Morgan Stanley, Barclays Capital and Société Générale.
