Hines – Logan Smith will be joining the international real estate firm on 1 July, to head Europe logistics. Smith will be taking a lead role in growing the sector for Hines in Europe in close cooperation with the Hines dedicated country teams. He will be based in Hines’ Amsterdam office. Smith joins Hines from Amsterdam-based Aevitas Property Partners, where he was a managing director. He was previously head of logistics and industrial at BNP Paribas Real Estate and previously served as CIO for P3 Logistic Parks and led European acquisitions and dispositions for Prologis.

Gazeley – The logistics warehouses and distribution parks investor has appointed Robin Johns as director of business technology. His primary responsibility will be to provide strategic technology leadership for Gazeley, GLP’s European platform. He joins Gazeley from BP, where he spent a year as interim delivery director and led the delivery of a global transformation project. Johns previously spent six years as CIO at Tideway.

ICG Real EstatePhilippe Deloffre and Aisling McCarthy have joined the real estate arm of Intermediate Capital Group. They have both joined the partnership capital strategy. Deloffre, who is based in Paris, will be responsible for leading the European (excluding UK) origination and investment for the partnership capital and senior debt strategies, whilst McCarthy, who is based in ICG’s London office, will focus on UK, North American and Irish sponsors investing across Europe. Deloffre joins ICG from BNP Paribas Asset Management, where he was head of real estate debt. He previously held roles as head of real estate debt at ACOFI Gestion and head of France, debt advisory at CBRE. McCarthy joins from Coimmvest, a tech-enabled CRE lending platform. Her previous roles include executive director at the Swiss National Bank stabilisation fund at UBS and director in the real estate finance EMEA team at UBS Investment Bank.

Cbus SuperAlexandra Campbell has been appointed head of infrastructure. She joins the fund from AustralianSuper, where she was a senior investment director, playing a key role in the investment and management of  AustralianSuper’s A$20bn infrastructure portfolio. Before joining AustralianSuper, Campbell, a lawyer-by-training, held senior roles with Hastings Funds Management. She has held multiple board positions, including for NSW Ports, Perth Airport, Northern Territory Airports, Queensland Airports, Port of Geelong and Metro Transport Sydney.

Ritterwald – The pan-European housing and real estate consultant has appointed Austen Reid as director, to lead the company in the UK. Reid brings over 30 years’ experience in social and affordable housing much of it at executive level in several large housing associations, including Clarion Housing Group where he was executive director of development. He was also a Savills Housing Consultancy director.

Hammerson – The UK REIT has appointed Robert Noel to succeed David Tyler as non-executive chair of the company. Noel will join the board and take over the position with effect from a date to be confirmed but no later than 1 October 2020, at which point Tyler will step down from the company. When he joins, Noel will also chair the nominations committee. In March of this year, Noel stepped down from Landsec, where he had held the role of CEO for the past eight years. He is also senior independent director at Taylor Wimpey and a trustee of the Natural History Museum. Desmond de Beer will join the Hammerson board as a non-executive director with immediate effect. He is a non-executive director of Lighthouse Capital, a property company which invests in direct property and listed real estate securities.

ATP Real Estate – The property investment arm of Denmark’s biggest pension fund ATP has appointed Jan Johansen to its four-strong management board as chief property officer. He is replacing the current director of property management Christian Hartmann, who is set to leave the firm at the end of July. Johansen joins ATP from construction firm CG Jensen, where he has held a range of managerial roles, currently working as chief quality officer. ATP Real Estate said the appointment comes as it shifts its focus further towards construction and project development, with a view to pushing forward the utilisation of existing building rights. It said Johansen, who is set to assume overall responsibility for rental facilities, renovations, new construction and operation, would begin work in his new role by 1 December.

BaringsJohn Ratcliffe has been appointed to the newly created head of Asia Pacific real estate role to help develop the business’ pan-Asian and Australian real estate platform covering both equity and debt. Ratcliffe will primarily be responsible for sourcing investment opportunities in the region, with an ”initial focus on Australia and Japan before exploring opportunities in China and other geographies”, as well as assisting with capital raising from both existing and new sources. He joins Barings from Challenger Real Estate, where he spent 12 years as executive director of transactions and capital raising. He also previously worked in asset management at Australian high-end residential and mixed-use developer, Niecon Developments.

K Hospitality – The Singapore-based hospitality firm has appointed Noel Neo as CFO of K Hospitality and CEO of investment advisory affiliate – K Hotel Advisors. Noe joins from Stewardship Asia Centre, and was previously research chief at the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association. He was earlier in his career with private equity fund manager – Pacific Star Holdings, and SGX-listed Pacific Star Development.
