Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield – Jean-Marie Tritant has been appointed chairman of the management board of URW and group CEO to succeed Christophe Cuvillier on 1 January 2021. During a transition phase starting on 19 November, Tritant will hold the position of group COO. Tritant has resigned from his position as chairman of the management board of URW NV. Dominic Lowe has been appointed COO US and chairman of the management board of URW NV. Lowe was previously executive VP development US for URW.
JLL – The real estate services firm’s EMEA CEO Guy Grainger will move into a new role as global head of sustainability services and ESG with effect from 1 January 2021. The new senior role reflects the company’s ongoing strategic focus on expanding its already substantial sustainability services capabilities. Grainger has led the EMEA region since June 2016, also serving as a member of JLL’s global executive board. Prior to that, he was CEO of the UK business between 2013 and 2016, having originally joined as a senior leader of the Churston Heard business acquired by JLL in 2008.
Delancey – The UK-focused property investment manager has appointed Daniel Berger as property and funds director. Berger will be responsible for managing and growing funds under management. He will also be a member of the Delancey steering committee. Berger joins Delancey from AustralianSuper where he was a portfolio manager. Prior to this role, he was a fixed income investment manager at the same organisation with responsibility for its global credit portfolio. He has also held roles at Perpetual Investments, Goldman Sachs and Macquarie Bank.
Linus Digital Finance – Former JLL Germany CEO Timo Tschammler has joined the real estate project financing firm as a member of the advisory board. He will serve as a strategic advisor to the company. Tschammler spent eight years as a MD and subsequently CEO of the German office of JLL. He had previously led the commercial real estate consulting firm DTZ Germany as the CEO for over three years. Tschammler now operates his own consultancy, TwainTowers, which specialises in board and non-executive services.
Clarion Partners Europe – Former Castlelake managing director Maqbool Mohamed has joined the European logistics real estate manager as CFO and COO. Mohamed spent nearly seven years at Castlelake as MD and CFO for the European assets business line. He previously held senior roles at Grove International Partners, Citi Property Investors and Cargill Value Investment.
Kinetic Capital – The specialist purpose-built student accommodation lender has appointed Nick Cussen head of business development. Cussen joins from NatWest where he spent the past fourteen years. Earlier this year, Ben Lynch also joined the business as director of credit.
Cromwell Property – Darren Downs has been appointed to a new role as head of separate accounts. The role is dedicated to sourcing new opportunities and strengthening relationships with Cromwell’s existing and future separate account investors. Downs will be responsible for ensuring the specific mandates and requirements of individual Cromwell separate account investors are met, as well as identifying opportunities suitable for new investors as part of the business’ focus on growth in the European market. He was previously a fund manager and director at Nuveen Real Estate for 14 years.
Crestbridge – Dean Hodcroft will join Crestbridge in April next year and will succeed Graeme McArthur as the group’s CEO with effect from 1 July 2021. Hodcroft is CFO and a founding partner of Cale Street Partners and formerly head of real estate at EY in London. Prior to joining Cale Street in 2015, Hodcroft spent 26 years working for EY. McArthur joined Crestbridge in 2010.
Warehouse REIT – The UK industrial REIT’s external investment advisor, Tilstone Partners, has appointed Adrian Daminato as head of financial planning and reporting and Dan Ragonez as senior investment analyst. Daminato will oversee financial planning and analysis, further boosting the firm’s financial analysis capabilities. He was most recently head of financial planning and analysis at CLS Holdings. Ragonez was previously a senior real estate analyst at an Australian private equity fund manager and mezzanine debt boutique, having also held roles at JP Morgan and PwC.
Inspired Villages – Sharon Badelek has joined L&G’s later living business in a newly created CFO position. Badelek’s previous roles include CFO and CEO of Novus Leisure, which operates at over 40 venues across the UK, group finance director at Vue Entertainment as well as group financial controller of Virgin Active and CFO of Westpoint Veterinary. Badelek will join the board. COO Tom Lord, who joined the business in September 2018 from the InterContinental, has also joined the board.
Heitman – The global real estate investment management firm has appointed Tobias Baumann, VP, client service and marketing to lead Heitman’s business development initiatives across German-speaking Europe including Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. Prior to joining Heitman, he was responsible for business development across the Nordic and German-speaking markets at Winton Group. Baumann has also previously worked at Lazard Asset Management in Frankfurt and started his career at Funds@Work.
