Impax Asset Management Group – The AIM-quoted investment manager has made appointments to its advisory board. John Forbes, an independent consultant and previously head of real estate at PwC, and Paul McNamara, former head of property research at PRUPRIM, have joined the board. Impax said Paul Clark and David Cadman also joined the board.
CREFC Europe – Hans Vrensen has been hired as a consultant director for research and education. The European trade association for commercial real estate lenders and investors said Vrensen would help source or provide industry statistics and research. Vrensen was previously global head of research at DTZ, having joining in November 2009.
CBRE Global Investors – Klaus Kortebein has been appointed managing director for global key separate accounts. Harald Flöer has been named director of portfolio management for German separate accounts. Kortebein joined CBRE Global Investors in September last year as a senior adviser to set up a global separate account mandate for a German pension fund. Flöer has been appointed director of portfolio management and will be responsible for two global separate account mandates with German institutional investors. The investment manager last month named Pieter Roozenboom as head of global separate accounts after creating a new board.
Peakside Capital Advisors – Georg Reul has been hired to create new real estate fund products for German institutional investors. Reul was chief executive of KGAL and prior to that, a board member at Frankonia Eurobau. Between 1996 and 2010, he worked for IVG Immobilien.
Rockspring Property Investment Managers – Lionel Nicolas has been appointed director of Rockspring France. Prior to joining Rockspring, he was managing director for France, Belgium and the Netherlands at Cordea Savills. He has also held positions as general manager of a Macquarie Bank fund and as head of retail investment at Grosvenor Continental Europe. He replaces Arnaud Le Mintier.
M&G Real Estate – Martin Towns has been named head of capital solutions to identify opportunities for international investors seeking direct real estate exposure to the UK, Continental Europe and Asia. Promoted from within the firm, Towns was deputy fund manager of a £9bn separate account for the past four years.
Defined Contribution Real Estate Council – John Ehli has been named co-president and Jennifer Perkins co-treasurer. Ehli, a portfolio manager for Deutsche Bank’s RREEF Real Estate core fund, RREEF America REIT II, joins UBS Reality’s head of DC strategy, Laurie Tillinghast, who was appointed in 2014, as co-president. Perkins, a portfolio manager at Principal Real Estate Investors, will share her responsibilities as treasurer with Kurt Walten, senior vice-president of investment affairs and investor education at NAREIT.
CBRE Capital Advisors – The firm has expanded its global real estate secondaries advisory platform in the Americas. Philip Barker has been appointed senior managing director to lead the team in New York. Barker previously led CBRE’s real estate derivatives team in the US and has worked for Merrill Lynch, Barclays Bank and The Royal Bank of Canada.
